In boxing, punches are your weapons. Therefore Margarito having cement in his fists made his punches hurt his opponents much more, thus having the potential to totally affect the outcome of a fight.

    a. Don't really have much to say here, didn't think Cintron would beat him anyway. But body shot stoppages, both. Loaded gloves would obviously contribute to him being much, much more heavy-handed, and the punches doing much more damage.

    b. Cotto was punched out as much as he punched himself out. Taking punches takes a lot out of a fighter. If he had loaded gloves, again more damage, takes more out of him and hurts him more.

    c. Clottey was in control before he injured his hand, although his stamina is an issue. Perhaps Margarito busted Clottey's hand by hitting them while he was employing his guard?

Only making suggestions. I don't necessarily think that he had loaded gloves for those 3 fights, not saying he didn't either. We'll have to wait and see what we here.

Obviously it doesn't contribute to his stamina or chin, those two things are there for all to see, but if he does have loaded gloves it makes it easier for him to overwhelm an opponent - even if it results only in a decision - because shots are doing more damage and taking a lot out of a fighter, thus they have less energy to be able to stop Margarito smothering them. Also it can take a fighter's confidence away, such as Cintron's, he looked scared to be hit by Margarito. If a fighter does that sometimes they'll be scared to engage and go into a shell, and fighting defensively against Margarito is a mistake unless you have the skills to carry it out.

    Anyone who says..........

    A) he'd have still won those fights 100% without the bricks.
    B) The bricks had little effect

...............Has obviously been hit by loaded gloves themselves at some point.

    1. when he fought cotto: when you take a punch thats hard as ****, your more than likely to stay away from a fighter and be on your toes the whole time, not throughing punches with alot of power cause you fear his punch, it messes up the whole game plan. With loaded gloves

    2. When he fought cintron: Nobody said margo doesnt have a chin, he should that with mosley. Mrgo cant in fight for **** either. the way he beat cintron was he took some of his bombs, came in and landed those bodyshots/w loaded gloves, that wore down contron alot faster than usual.

3.when he fought clottey: did you even watch the fight? clottey was kicking ass, he got saved from a tko. Clottey broke his right hand in the 5th round, still it was a tough fight for margo

I agree with thread starter - while the gloves may have had some impact - even without the gloves cotto would have lost.

    a) If Margarito hadn't used loaded gloves, thus causing extra damage on each shot to Cintron, can we be sure that he would be able to deter Cintron? Would Margarito have been able to walk Cintron down if each shot wasn't landing as though Cintron was being hit with cement? Would Cintron have taken the shots easier, been able to make a better account of himself? While I don't think much of Cintron, I will give CINTRON the benefit of the doubt, and not the cheater.

    b) As I posted elsewhere, "Cotto was getting backed up by concrete gloves. That's the whole issue. If Margarito hadn't laced his gloves with stones, he wouldn't have been able to back Cotto up, nor could he deter him from going to the body. So, Cotto could not commit the attack he wanted to because he was being hit with cement. If, on the other hand, Cotto was not being hit with cement, he would have been able to stand his ground and commit more, thereby doing more damage, thereby beating the cheater and his unhealthily thin body into submission."

    c) Clottey's hand was hurt in the fight? HOW was it hurt? Was that from the impact of concrete landing against his high guard? Difficult to say, but I won't discount that possibility. Were Margarito not using concrete, Clottey quite possibly goes on to outfight Margarito, as he had been doing. Again, I'm more willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the man who did not cheat.

So Margarito put rocks in his gloves just for the heck of it and not because it would give him any advantage?

So a guy with a great chin gets beaten and battered and brutally knocked out by a 37 year old fighter?

And it's just a coincidence that the brutal knockout occurs on the exact same night the rocks in his glove are discovered and removed?

Just a coincidence that those same punches that were so feared in the boxing world barely phased Mosley the night the rocks are discovered and removed?

Who knows what would have happened if he had never had rocks in his gloves? But what the hell possesses a fan of his to start a thread claiming he could have won even without them? Maybe you Margarito fans ought to think about trying to downplay this whole rocks in gloves deal? lol
