If what has been alleged about Margo turns out to be true he really doesn't deserve to be defended in any manner, imo.

 

Only a stupid, brainwashed Cotto ****boy would make these kind of assumptions. How the **** do you know he loaded his gloves against Cotto and not Williams? He fought Williams in California, where it is probably much easier for him to pull this stunt. Don't try to diminish what Williams did by taking his shots in the 11th, while Cotto was KO'd.

It's all speculation at this point whether he loaded his gloves against anyone else other than Shane. And I am inclined to believe he has done it before, but you can't just assume which fighters he may or may not have done it against just to argue for your fighter.

Margo was caught and punished. Period. Give him a year to diminish further, and we'll wait and see what happens. In the meantime, Bob Arum should let Cotto step his punk ass in the ring with PW, where he will get a career-changing, confidence-crushing, ass-whippin. :good

2. I am SO glad that you brought this up. By your own logic, if it wasn't really helping, you tell ME why Margarito would choose to partake of the cheating? The fact that he does it makes it clear as day that it helps him, gives him an advantage. If it didn't give an advantage, he wouldn't do it.

3. I am most definitely not stretching this. If Margarito was loading his gloves against Cintron, then it is no surprise Cintron was busted up in such emphatic fashion. Cotto was on the brink of winning, I don't see how it is stretching it to suggest he could have defeated Margarito. If Cotto lasted to 11 rounds against loaded gloves, don't you think he could have finished against regular boxing gloves? Maybe Clottey didn't hurt his hand based on that, and even if I grant you that, you still have to admit that Clottey's chances to beat Margarito would have been better without having Margarito's gloves loaded.

Let me put it this way... if Cotto had loaded his gloves, it is very possible that Margarito wouldn't have been able to take the shots that he did. I think you'll agree.

4. It is hard to stick to any gameplan when you are being hit with a concrete-like substance. I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt to those who have faced the cheater, not the cheater himself.

 

Agreed on all counts. To suggest that Margarito's loaded wraps didn't impact the outcome of the fights is just ludicrous.

If we've got a pinata, and a styrofoam baseball bat, it may take a few hits for the kid to bust the pinata. However, if you give the kid an aluminum bat, you can be sure he's gonna beat the stuffing out faster. That's a fact.
