pac also agreed on a 50/50 split then when pac-cotto outsold floyd-marquez back in 2009.

 

of course it shoudl be 50/50 but he should never have come out and acted like he would do anything to make the fight, and say he would take a smaller purse. I doubt that'll be the sticking point, it just makes him look like an idiot and it makes him look like hes ducking. I'm a pac fan, I'm a pbf fan, I'll root for pac if they fight, but this is just getting ridiculous.

1.1 M buys is still quite a lot for someone who is fighting twice a year. floyd fight once a year and was still outsold by pac.

Floyd is a defensive fighter, pac is a offensive fighter. Considering people think floyd is boring yet he can do such large numbers is unbelievable.

It should be an even split - Pacquiao would be stupid to let Mayweather jr. call all the shots. You have to watch out for your own side.

 

Pacquiao got thoroughly outclassed by Marquez and the Mayweather matchup is no longer as huge a fight as a result.
Mayweather has every right to demand top billing and a bigger share of the purse.

 

If this fight ever happens, this forum is going to be dead. I swear people enjoy parroting hearsay and chatter more than watching the actual fights.

50/50 should always be a given. Being willing to take less because you are pissed doesn't mean it's required or smart of you to do so. Waiting 2-3 weeks more to secure an extra 20 million for each fighter is also a reasonable request. This is what these guys do for a living and "Money" Mayweather would be the first to admit this. It's not JUST about entertaining us.

However, if Floyd can't do late May because he needs time to heal before going to jail and can't get another extension, that is also understandable. In that case, Floyd should not even flinch at the 50/50 at least. Why should Pac lose 20 million because Floyd beat a woman and has to go to jail June 1st?

Honestly all this **** should have been worked out way back when Floyd chose the venue and the date. Not at the last minute. I don't really understand this idea of picking a place and date before an opponent anyway. Who you are fighting makes a LOT of difference on both factors.
