if it was not about money and just about adding another scalp to his rack, he would be fighting for free. Money is always important. A fighter will always ask to be paid what he's worth

it's not all about money for him. it's also about status. status of being the best fighter in all of boxing as well as its biggest star. he knows that this status entitles him to a bigger share. to agree to a 50/50 split is like throwing away this status which he has worked very hard to achieve in his career.

In the current financial climate Manny Pacquiao is coming across as a bit of a tosser. :cus

He will still make millions of $ to add to his already banked millions of $ so what's the point in worrying?

    He may think that.

But whoever is bringing in the money and fans is entitled to their fair share, Hatton has been bringing in WAY more fans and PPV buys than Pac has in the last few years.

He may be the best fighter in boxing but he is not its biggest star....you reckon he made more than DLH in their fight? :-(

I actually think Hatton is bringing in more money here. Why should he be made to take 40% of a purse that he has earned at least half of?

Either Pac is being a greedy little *******, or he has some silly complex where he thinks he is now P4P number 1 and therefore earns more than opponents by default. Either way he is being a ****.

    50-50 is fair. Completely fair.

you could say the same about Hatton not accepting the 40%. Even with 40% he will still make millions of $ to add to his already banked millions of $ so what's the point of worrying?

Maybe so, but Hatton is making reasonable demands here, Pac is making unreasonable demands. And why should Pac take home more of the purse?

UK PPVs cost only half of US PPVs. that means hatton needs for UK PPV buys to be twice the number of US PPV buys to bring in equal revenue in PPVs. that's why the 850k US PPV buys were worth more than the 1.25M UK PPV buys in the mayweather-hatton fight. the money is still in US PPVs and that's why the fight will be held in the US and not in the UK.

Hatton sold over a million PPV's in the Uk for his fight with Floyd.

he's got the right to, he currently is at the top. I know hatton will bring more crowds but that is also with the help of pac. His rankings right now is better than hatton being the champ at 140 lbs.

I'm not saying 50/50 is bad. But Pac right now is the premium fighter and not hatton and therefore should get the bigger share.

"unreasonable demands" depends on who you're talking to

Pacquiao just beat the **** out of the Golden Boy, is a 5 division champ, p4p #1, and 3 time linear champ.

Hatton's is a 2 division champ and 1 time linear champ, and was knocked out just over a year ago.
