I still think a Pacquiao fight happens. This has negotiating ploy written all over it. Fightnews is the only one reporting it and the release is littered with comments about the financial split. And the release didn't even come from Bob Arum.

    A Pacquiao fight still happens.

    Great news!
Margarito should be his next opponent and an option available and ready.

Oscar needs to fight another old timer, Wright or Tito, most likely Oscar will try to get Floyd out of retirement.

Just have a feeling he'll try to avenge the Tito loss. It's the safest fight for him, and will make a mint. He can't compete with Margo at this point.

Manny is an idiot...forget the %....this fight would pay him 5x more than he usually makes AND increase his marketability by double earning him millions more in the future.

There is no way in hell Manny should let Oscar walk away with 70% of the purse and money from promotion, while he gets a measly 30%. Pac is the driving force of this fight, not Oscar. No one cares if Oscar wins, if anyone was going to pay for this fight, it would be because they want to see if Manny can do the unexpected.

How can you say that? Lets look at their possibilities if they don't fight each other...

No matter who oscar fights (of the reasonable choices) the fight does more than 1 million PPV and could potentially do 1.8+

Manny v. Soto will do under 200k I bet my ESB life on it

You are right, Oscar can fight anyone he wants and get his money, but I think of all the active fighters PacMan, aside from Tito, is the most money is would get and the easiest fight for him.
