Yeah, but I missed the "several weeks of constant rumors". Also, being in Miami means it was could've been weeks since he left Cuba, u know, the usual preparations, VISA, etc., takes time. However, the little the media know, the better to get the job done. It's never a sweet story and it's not our business. Huh, Rigondeaux in Miami. Amazing, isn't it?
Cuba should just let there athletes compete already. It must be embarrassing that so many of there people are forced to defect.
Calderon is a 43-year old LFW champ, Rigondeux will probably campaign at 122....brought up like Gamboa he can make his mark before he loses his reflexes. This is AWESOME news for boxing, the Teofilio Stevenson of the lower-weights IMO!
lets see how his conditioning goes in miami,if he stays away from restaurants "Versalles" and "LaCarreta"then he can stay at 122,i believe he is a lit taller than Gamboa but less frame.
Amazing news! Finally he has made it! Rigondeaux will be a mayor player within a very short period of time. A few years ago he was considered to be the Cuban amateur out there. I very much hope that he signs a contract with that German based Turk for whom Rigondeaux's compatriots fights.Would love to watch some of his pro fights live!:good
Espero mucho que vaya a ver a Rigondeux en vivo aqui en europa!!!! Me alegria mucho ver a otra perla del sistema de boxeo cubano en el deporte profesional. Rigondeaux tiene el talento de dominar su division.:good
Luis Garcia has already battered Froch in sparring AND taken his best punches. Might just be the best prospect out of all of them, regardless of amateur success. Gamboa will throw it all away once he has gained a few World titles I think. I see his career being similar to Tyson/Hamed. Rigondeux might do better as he has waited so long. But Garcia....Garcia is scarily exciting.
