    Hoping to clarify some of the confusion surrounding the timing of the Golovkin contract, Oscar released this statement:

    We sent a contract to Loeffler back on September 18th... of 1988. Canelo has always wanted this fight. Even before he was conceived, he called out Triple G. Canelo is a true warrior, a true champion, and also the biggest star in boxing. Tell team Golovkin to sign the contract. The terms of the contract has a deadline of three days ago.
