    What is with people buying this "interim title" BS as if someone holding a belt means anything? You do all realize that the only point of it is so that they can say that they're having a "title fight" so that idiots who don't know anything about it will tune in, right? This is the same kind of BS that has boxing hurting so bad.

    If they want Faber to fight again before Cruz is okay to fight then fine, he doesn't really deserve the shot right now anyway, but Cruz is champ until he loses or retires. Besides, it's not his fault that they made him do TUF or he'd have fought again already.

    There should only be an interim belt if there is a possibility of the champ not coming back i.e. Brock Lesnar.

    I think it is marketing. They can market an interim fight and unification much better than main events for the number 1 contender repeatedly.
