Well Hearn said they’ve answered some of his concerns satisfactorily so I guess it was genuine yes

I’m a big AJ fan but if this offer is legit and they don’t take it, they want no part of Wilder.

The fine details can all be negotiated when there is THAT much money on the table. To get that much guaranteed is crazy. That’s probably a top-15 purse ever.

I don’t see a way it comes close to generating that much money, to be honest. Does it do a million buys in America? Wilder has never been on PPV and AJ has only had a handful of his fights televised here. I’m sure it will do amazing in the UK, but they don’t charge like the US does for PPV.

AJ made a statement that he would fight for $50MM up front, and now that offer has seemingly been granted. Can’t back out now.

A poster on another forum said that Showtime wanted a 5 match deal with the winner. That would put a very different complexion on the $50m payment. Especially as for AJ it only represents around double his likely take from alternative fights. Course that may be nonsense.

The good news is AJ is in LA, maybe he's there to tie up the final stages of the discussion and sign a contract? Hope so, am so bored of the talk around this fight now.

No way in hell Wilder's team can come up with that kind of money. And, for good reason: In America, this fight ISN'T WORTH that kind of money. The casual sports fan doesn't even know who the hell Deontay Wilder is. This is a total farce.

Correct, and let's not forget Hearn said after the very first meeting with Finkel & Co that the fight could make more money in Vegas than it could in the UK.

It's not necessarily the fighters but the event that will make the money. If the fight couldn't make the money, Showtime/Haymon/Finkel wouldn't offer the money.

With the right kind of promotion this fight could easily sell in the states.

This board needs to be smarter than this, the $50M never existed and team Wilder were just shamming for appearances sake. Why else cancel 2 meetings with Hearn in the US, Hearn had actually travelled to the States for the meeting only to be told it’s cancelled.

If Finkle was genuine and had made the effort to get the underwriters to guarantee the money why would he so readily sabotage the deal by cancelling the meetings, come on!

The offer was bogus, end of!
