This announcement just gives off alarm bells to me that this relatively unknown outfit is not going to pay Crawford 8 figures and they may be stuck in litigation for a while with Crawford if so.

 

I was so confident Spence vs Crawford would happen as Crawford can't fight anyone whose with Al Haymon which is most of the WW's
Then this got announced so disappointing
This needs boycotting with Fury/Chisora III

 

Not a bad fight, but I was never expecting the Spence fight to happen so no disappointment on my end.

Bring back the old days where men were real f()cking men by fighting anyone, anywhere, and anytime without ducking no one or making hissy fits about money. No more p()ssyfooting around and just get in there and fight. I’d have more respect for Crawford if he were to do that. Fight Avensyan, then fight Spence the week after, and then Ortiz the week after that, then move up to fight Jermall the 2 weeks after. Fastest way him to become an ATG.

 

I think it's been obvious for a while it wasn't going to happen this year if at all. Was reported earlier the fight had been moved to Feb 2023 in Vegas, so with Crawford being out of the ring almost a year already it makes sense he fits in another fight.

I really thought with Crawford deciding to leave Arum that would remove the last obstacle to this fight happening but it seems that isn't the case which makes it clear Arum wasn't really the problem to begin with.

Both fighters are to blame for it not happening. I know fans of either will blame the other side but we really don't know enough about the details of the negotiations to know if one side is really being difficult.

If it doesn't happen next year then quite frankly I'm done with this fight, much like when Mayweather/Pac dragged on for years, in the end I gave up on that fight because I was so jaded by the protracted negotiations that when the fight eventually happened I didn't bother to watch it or get involved in the discussions on here during the aftermath. I feel neither fighter maybe prime after 2023 with Crawford's age and Spence's physical issues after that car crash.

 

Christmas past this wouldn't be a bad fight but given all the hullabaloo this is a big disappointment.

This is yet another duck from Bud, who yet again is fighting B-tier competition while Spence fights elite competition.

Id support a boycott of these two disgracejobs. They are disgracing themselves and the sport of boxing. Its not a Mayweather/ Pacquaio situation where they have other big PPV opponents to be fighting like Hoya , Marquez , Cotto , Canelo , Bradely etc.

Avanesyan is one heck of a fighter and its a great fight but its overshadowed by the fact its not Spence.

 

Thank god they’ve finally announced the fight we’ve all been waiting for!!!
