Boxing politics is so small and insignificant that you'd think some US Gov intervention could save the sport a lot of trouble. A little more government involvement would assure that corruption only happens on a higher level and not in every single possible aspect of "belt holding" and ranking.

Probably because Marks posts have devolved into clickbait trash pulled off YouTube.

You're right, things are fine the way they are. 1351 world championship belts across 37 weight classes operating within 7 sanctioning bodies. The sport isn't suffering a slow death at the hands of leeches and their leeching tools.

It's not a binary choice. Govt is not ur mommy. Not the only remedy. Rarely is it the best one.

Bruh idk about that as bad as the wbc or wba maybe, the ibf and WBO have and allow some of the WORST mandatory fights in boxing history.. at least WBC and WBA champs fight somewhat decent fighters most of the time the other 2 are historically belts you grab when you want to hold a title hostage and fight sub teir opponents and have an excuse for it

Have you seen Wilder vs Stiverne II (late 2017) for the WBC mandatory? With Stiverne not having fought for 2 years, and the only fight after his initial loss being a gift decision against Rossy, in which he got dropped. Which at the moment is his only "win" in the last 7 (!!!) years.
Broner and Allakh both coming of a loss to fight for the vacant WBA Light Welter title as #1 and #2, with Allakh not having fought for 1½ years.
Both the WBC as the WBA have had some very bad mandatories, some forced after other backfiring shenanigans (like the whole Oquendo soap), others just because either the PBC wanted an easy defence, Don King wanted a titleshot for one of his fighters, etc.
And don't forget all the completely ridiculous non-mandatory fights, in which the challenger had no business at all being in there at that level
Holding belts hostage (as you mentioned) is another big thing for both the WBA and WBC for instance. Remember Wilder and Stevenson? The Middleweight situation from a couple of years back? (WBC) Ottke, Sturm, the late 90's to late 00's HW situation? (WBA) Floyd never having to fight a mandatory at all?! (both WBA and WBC).
Plus then we get all the other shirt on top of it. Countless belts, taking belts away from less marketable fighters and gifting them to bigger names for more profit.
The WBO and IBF are very bad, noone would question that, but the WBA and WBC are significantly worse.

I didn’t say the wbc and wba don’t have bad mandatories as well at times… I’m just saying on average the WBO usually has the weakest champ and mandatories and the ibf is usually has some of the weakest mandos. Personally I don’t acknowledge all the jr, regular, Interim titles anyway then again this era has caused me to fall off boxing for a distinct lack of heart so what do I know any more any way
