I think too many people on here are taking away credit from Prescott for last nights victory and putting it down to Khans non existant chin. This was a factor in khans downfall, but it takes some doing going into basically britains brightest stars back yard and ko'ing him infront of his crowd, in the ****ing first round. I wish the guy all the success in boxing and hope he becomes a world champion.
No one really cares about certain fights (the fights themselves) here on ESB. Don't expect them giving any credit to Prescott or say something like Khan got caught early by a huge puncher (like Ruiz vs. Tua) just the usual 'I told you so' and 'I'm glad he lost bacause...' stuff... On the other hand, Khan did got caught early and cold so it's really hard to tell how good Prescott is... make him another fight and let's see... maybe he can fight another Warren fighter. Or Team Witter could make a bold move and fight him as the comeback opponent. Prescott looks like a natural LWW. Khan is big as a LW, but Prescott looked huge even compared to Khan.
Prescott put his punches together really well. I'm now interested to see if he was just in the right place at the right time delivering the inevitable knockout of Khan that could of happened at any time, or whether he's got a lot of class.
Hard to tell how good he is in 50-odd seconds. Need to see a couple more fights from him to judge him properly. Still, a first round knockout of a higher ranked fighter, in that fighter's home country, is pretty ****ing impressive whichever way you look at it.
Prescott looked slow against Richard Abril - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hxjhQwt1-A Khan proved ideal for him, as he walked forward, stright into his punches. There was never any attempt to jab and move, to create oppenings.
Yeah and the way he dropped his right hand (which led to him getting nailed by the left hook) was pretty horrible. Khan wasn't just caught cold, he was outclassed and has more problems than just a china chin.(As if he needed any!) I'm gonna reserve judgement on Prescott till I see more of him.
That was hilarious when somebody did that. There's no danger of underrating the guy, because he'll be able to prove his worth in his next fight. There is however with ESB's history to overrate the guy based on 54 seconds, and I think comparing him to Hearns surely qualifies. atsch
I mean, I guess you CAN compare Hearns and Prescott-- One is a proven ATG and first ballot hall of famer and one is a largely unknown and unproven quantity who was lucky enough to be the first to really crack an overhyped prospect's chin.
It pisses me off when stupid idiots make the comparisons. Hearns completely destroyed Cuevas, which is a big big difference to destroying Amir Khan. No comparison.
