I just found this amusing. That would mean that Khan got KOed by a fighter that wasnt even ranked within the top 100 135 pounders.

Jesus, this kid just came out of nowhere.

He moved up 97 positions to number #13, which would mean that prior to the fight he was ranked at #110. Lordy Jesus, talk about a step up  He is now right below Jose Armando Santa Cruz.

I thought it was a mistake when I saw it. Boxrec will list how many positions a fighter moves up after a fight, and for him it said 97, and I was like "what, that would mean he at. . .You've got to be kidding me"

If you look at his record though, it makes sense. In his previous fight he was taken the distance for 10 rounds by a Mister Richard Abril, who was 10-0-1, 5 KOs, and whose opponents sported a combined win loss record of an amazing of 59-72.

Im just amazed. Ive never anything like this in all the time Ive been watching the sport. Its like Rocky, except Apollo got knocked out in the first round. This kid had beaten NOBODY. There is not a single recognizable fighter on his resume. 9 of his fights were against fighters with negative records, who had not a single victory. His third fight prior to Khan his opponent was 4-5-3.

Boxing is an unbelievable sport. Prescott went from being a no name kid to one of the most well known fighters in the sport within a single minute.

I don't know what mechanics boxrec is using in rnking fighters but I find their p4p ranking out of this world most of the time. Won't be surprised if somebody here says that this is not first time that a fighter accelerated this fast as you are saying MJ.

agreed he could know sell a show with any top 135 fighter, In Britain he could sell a show with any top 130,135or 140 fighter after what he did to Khan and a rematch with Khan would do massive PPV numbers

I wonder how long he is gonna be ranked until someone ko's him? Anyways I don't think he is gonna be a factor in the division at all. Him ranked ahead of Santa Cruz is just stupid.

he is ranked below Santa Cruz, not above him.

what is going to be interesting is to see how he does in his next fight. Lets say he gets blown out, outclassed. Khan is just going to look that much worse.

How far down has Amir Khan gone?

What he did to Khan was very very impresive, why shouldn't he be ranked so highly? Would you bet against him at short odds against the people below him?
Again, why ought he to have been ranked above #110 before? He'd beaten mainly people with very little resume.
