Ahmet Öner is putting another ESPN Friday Night Fights show together, this time with unbeaten LW puncher, Breidis Prescott, who KTFU Amir Khan back in 2008. Erislandy Lara and Richard Gutierrez will be on the Fort Lauderdale, Florida show as well. No opponents yet.

So finally, Prescott is back, hopefully in a real test.

hes fighting a super banta who was an ex-flyweight champion, if this challenger was an ex-champion he should have enough in him to make Presscott look ammaturish for a few rounds.

I'd love to see him fight Fernando Angulo at some point. That might be a hell of a fight. I'm not a big fan of Prescott. Oner is an aggressive matchmaker, so we'll see how that pays off with Prescott. If he puts him in with a decent boxer with a good chin, he'll probably lose.

Just a funny note on Arena boxing. Ahmet Öner is quite a character, he's all over boxing these days. When it's about making a boat trip available for Cuban amateurs, giving them money, VISA, flat, citizenship, a professional team and TV contracts, he's there. When there's a scandal in Spain with the promoter pushing the ring bell button, he's there pushing it. When there's a Klitschko purse bid, unexpectedly, he's there with a serious bid.

Of course he's pushing Gamboa, Gomez and Hide at the WBC, and the latest news is pretty funny. He added Graziano Rocchigiani to his training team, Rocky will help welterweight prospect Selcuk Aydin, another fighter Öner is pushing at the WBC, in training camp. Of course it's the same Rocchigiani, who won $31.000.000 in a court case vs. WBC, and finding so hard to pay this money in these years, WBC had to file bankrupcy to survive, and making these interim belts for more sanctioning fees - to be able to pay.

Now think about this: Team Arena is paying all the sanctioning fees to the WBC, while the WBC is paying the serious money to Team Arena member Rocchigiani. :D

I guess Arena fighters will have no problem getting their shot at the green belt. You can expect Öner to bring his Training Team with him to WBC conversations to apply a little pressure. :D

If this is what we get for the loss of Weds Night Fights it will be worth it. ESPN is really putting on some quality shows so far this year.

BTalk is now reporting that Gamboa will headline a Shobox April 3rd from Primm, Nevada with Prescott in the co-feature, both against opponents TBA.

Interesting... but I think Prescott and Lara can appear on both shows. The February card was announced by an Arena press release BTW.
