I dont like him as a trainer and often lacks class as a person. I think he does have a decent side to him. He could of took the money and kept nut hugging Naz (like many would) but he didnt He is very wrong in making all his fighters fight in that unorthodox style. Would like thoughts from people who have shared his company
Totally clueless, and just happened to bump into the most athletically gifted White amd Black boxers in the history of british boxing.
Get real, best British based trainer of all time,Graham,Naz,Nelson,Witter,Rhodes,Brook, trained british, commenwealth,European and World Champions, great record..
He's a good mental coach, but a terrible coach in terms of boxing skills a technique's. He had the most athletically gifted fighters, who just basically decided to fight how they wanted. He's not the best British coach of all-time.
I think that "best British based trainer of all time" is overstating it, but "totally clueless" is ridiculous
So he just got lucky and happened to just bluff his way along because he had great fighters, even though he trained a lot of them from the time they were kids..
Basically........yes. People win the lottery sometimes yano, not everyone has to be a genius to become a Million. Brendan Ingle is a complete ******ed ****witt when it comes to boxing training mate. Someone like Junior Witter has all the physically ability in the world, and amazing motorskills, but he personally bought into the total bull**** Brendan Ingle taught some of his fighters. And look at the state of Junior Witter now..? look at the state of the man. Like i've just stated he was a great mental coach, but technically if he was so good. He would have "A Bunch" of successful boxers now..? Only a certain type of fighter could pull it off with Brendan Ingle, mainly black fighters who where incredible technically gifted, in terms of physical skills and motor skills, and some white fighters alike aswell. Somebody like Carl Froch would of never of gotten higher than domestic level, if he trained with Brendan Ingle and totally embraced his ways. Most of Brendan Ingle fighters, ether did what they wanted technically. Added there own spin of things, or some like Junior Witter took Ingle's ******ed ****witt of a way........."To the next level". Brendan Ingle got luck with afew blacks and whites. He's a ****ing bell-end aswell.
Well obviously you just hate the man and cant give him any credit,Yeah of course he got lucky with numerous fighter's,thats a great argument there,Eddie Futch must have got lucky aswell, along with Freddie Roach..
I'm stating that he came across the most talanted boxers athletically, both black and white. Technically most of them had massive flaws, when they embraced Brendan Ingle's boxing style 100%, but they where still able to pull great feats off, because they where that talented. In a sport where, averagely talented athletics physically in terms of raw skills, and motor skills can have success. Brendan Ingle was no technical genius, like i have stated. I give him loads of credit for being a great mind coach, osycolgical building fighters up. But as a technical coach..? He was a complete and utter joke, a complete a utter ******ed ****witt. You needed to be a certain type of fighter to pull off the Ingle style without beig seriously injured or even killed. Henry Cooper, Carl Froch, Ricky Hatton, if they all trained and embraced the Ingle style 100%. None of them would of gotten furthur than domestic level, and Henry Cooper probably would of been ruined for life. You need to be athletically gifted/physical/motor skills which the majority of black fighters are, or good one's atleast. And all the white fighters that had success with Ingle big, fitted this description aswell. If you didn't fit this description, you where ****ed. And you where going nowhere....!! and its a testament to the fighters raw ability that they did anything. Why..? Because Brendan Ingle was no genius, and a **** technically coach, who was slightly deluded. Give him all the credit in the world, for installing confidants in fighters, and training them mentally. But thats about it. Eddie Futch and Freddie Roach did get lucky aswell. But the difference is, they teach their boxers solid proven skills. That a fighter benefits from, when they become old and are aging fighters. These ethics, that are never lost always helped the fighters. Look at the state of Junior Witter now..? and he is a incredible athlete, and is really fit. But he does not have a ****ing jar of glue, he is totally clueless technically. Lives on another planet inside of the ring, another dimension. Its as if he's on hallucinogenic drugs inside of the ring. I partly blame Junior Witter for wasting his raw talents, and i blame Brendan Ingle for totally destroying his career. Totally destroying his one chance in this lifetime, of being a great fighter. "Which he should of been"
Youre entertaining but you're a clown...sheffield just happens to be a genetic hotbed of multiracial athletic phenoms...but nowhere else in the country...? So why havent any of the other Sheffield trainers had such luck..? Ah wait Jessica Ennis is from Sheffield as well...her coach is probably **** as well, lucky they breed them so gifted there, you just might have cracked it
I actually see his point, tbh. Ingle fighters rely mostly on their reflexes. Witter was too shot and won a world title too late, Herol Graham just got caught with the big shots and was probably too old for his reflexes to be perfect in later world title fights, Naz's ego got out of control, haven't watched any Johnny Nelson and Kell Brook looks odd.
Wittr is old now,in his prime he was world class,Hatton wanted no part of him,i understand it can be a flawed style but not all fight the same,Thaxton and Brook never fought the same as Witter or Naz..
If he's such an average trainer how did he have ABA champions the first year the club was running, how has he been able to produce amateur champions year after year and how has he been able to produce solid journeymen if he's such a bad trainer. Have these success's also been based on luck and a hotbed of multi racial athletic phenemons in the greater Sheffield area? Amazing that someone would suggest that utilising a boxers raw talent into an unorthodox style and being succesful is an example of poor training..!!
