Hopkins workrate is **** mate, anything over 40 punches around and he's ****ed. But to give him credit, he can still work at a decent workrate, enough for him to hide his declining form.

He's been taking advantage of whats not there in boxing, while he's been in his 40's........."Very smart match making". He couldn't cope with Joe Calzaghe's workrate and pace, and Calzaghe took Hopkins abit lightly. Thats why Hopkins had to hold all of the time, and fake low blows to take a much needed rest.

"He cannot cope, or fight at a good pace these days"

And Chad Dawson will probably end his career.

He's not a better athlete that he was 10 years ago, he would state this himself. But whats stood him in good sted, are his technical skills and the basic's, of which he never wonders far from inside of a boxing ring.

Thats couple with him being in "Good shape, and in Good Condition" all of these coupled together with his by far more impressive skills, and ring smartness.

Is what helps him take advantage of certain fighters.

If Bernard Hopkins was 30 years of age right now, nobody would be ranting and raving about him..why..? because technically he is doing nothing special, from a technical and pure physical point of view, he's nothing nothing special inside of the ring.

His workrate is average, his speed is good alittle bit, his combination punching is good alittle bit.

"In terms of performance, technically he's nothing special these days"

"But because he's 46, people are talking, and they are getting carried away"

But for me, in boxing you don't get no handicaps or head starts because of you're age. Hopkins has gotten carried away of late, stating that he is "Special"

Special..? He's just a great boxer.....who has kept himself in shape, and who is taking advantage of whats not there.

Everything what Teddy Atlas says in this interview is right.

All the ingle knockers are just jealous. Just become someone doesnt win the aba fencing comp over 3x2 rounds where the judges are biased to give the contest to West Ham Repton Northside Sailsbury Pheonix no matter how bad they are doesnt mean they wont go on to be decent pros.
Clinton Woods Ashley Theophane Jamie Moore are all examples of this and plus what the **** are you going on about him getting the best black and white fighters and how the ingle style is a black mans style mate you are a complete mong. Naz was his best prospect as you say and he is an arab of yemenese descent. Its about sharp reflexes not the colour of your skin what a dougnut. Whats the matter did a ingle fighter bash you up LOL

The greatest teacher of bad habits in the history of the game.

  7. Can’t say I’ve seen him say anything that bad except for the Eubank thing.

At worst he’s filth who likes BMWs.

How many of you lot actually know Brendan or have been in his gym?

I've been down there and while his methods may not be standard, they unquestionably produce results. Top trainer.

And those slagging him personally clearly have never met him. I took a trip down to his gym last year and he was true gent. He didn't know me from Adam but invited me back to his house where he made me a coffee (despite him not drinking coffee himself) and I chatted to him and his wife Alma for about three hours. Saw him at a show the other week and said I'm welcome to visit him anytime.

he knows what he is doing, he is trying to make his fighters not be rigid and predictable and to feel their own way. and be creative. butto me i think it drowns the process because you dont know enough about the sport to undermine it and be awkward. the best awkward fighters have confidence and knowledge of what they are trying to do. most of the ingle gym are a worry for a matchmaker but are usually poor on the insideand are easy to tag if your prepared.

To the people who say he is clueless. Go open a gym and do better ! He did train most guys In the same style, rather than to their strengths, but several trainers are guilty of that. Manny Steward does better with tall rangy types. I am sure there are plenty of boxers who could have done better with a different coach

He has had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented fighters this countries ever produced. Due to their talent they can make his awkward/ridiculous style effective. They all needed the fundamentals and against quality fighters would be exposed. Alot of what he teaches is bollocks.

I saw Kell Brook explaining the line drills they use in his gym. No wonder all his fighters are continously out of position and off balance.
