M1s rigid stance was already defined, didnt stop Emelianenko from signing with them. They're both to blame for Fedor Brock not happening

Fedor still has a 3 fight deal with m1 as far as I am aware. That would mean if M1 did not agree with any deal it oculd not happen.

Lindland had sweet FA to offer Fedor. That was a fight i couldnt understand at all. Lindlands barely even a light heavy. It may aswell have been an exhibition bout.

He fought Rampage to basically a draw or small win either way and is at least world class in something he does.

Not that I found the Lindland fight particularly worthwhile either, don't get me wrong, it's just that Rogers doesn't have anything world class to offer; his power is decent, but so is every heavyweights.

The man owns a fairly good sized part of the company, the company is all run by his inner circle, the company essentially does not exist without him.

The rest of the company is owned by Fedor's agent, who is supposed to represent him to whatever company he is dealing with, even his own.

Pretty hard to argue that Fedor couldn't do whatever he liked regardless of any contract with M1.

Sure......in MMA anything can happen. Fedor will submit this guy easily in the first.

You guys are taking this all wrong. I am not bashing Fedor for fighting Rogers. It's just sad to see the best heavyweight in the world and possibly the greatest MMA fighter of all time stuck in an organization where this is the best fight for him. Fedor is above a fight with Brett Rogers. Yeah, Brett Rogers hits hard... so? It's silly to act like this is some sort of extremely interesting match-up just because Rogers hits hard. Maybe if Rogers had unparralled takedown defense to go along with it. Yet, he was taken down a couple times within the first few minutes against James Thompson when they fought... before Thompson does what he does best and got knocked out again (9 times now). Hitting hard doesn't make you a great fighter, and it sure as hell doesn't make you a serious threat to the best MMA fighter in the world. His punching technique and accuracy isn't even good... and he's slow. His experience level or pedigree in any particalar fighting art, let alone MMA itself is severely lacking. On top of all that, he has fought a who's who of sloppy tomato cans with a damaged and fragile Arlovski (6th time that he has been knocked out) being the feather in his cap.

If I can see plain as day that if you keep Rogers moving his striking is weak, then I am sure as hell that Fedor sees it. Let alone the fact that I have never seen any of his opponents have trouble closing the distance on Rogers... what do you think will happen once Fedor closes the distance?

I love Fedor, he is a great fighter. He is also above fighting Rogers and it's sad to see a fight like this being what people are looking forward to for him. Of course I will watch it,, and any fight is just a fight in the end where anything can happen... but we can also be realistic.

Takeaway Brocks size and athleticism and what is he? Just another wrestler.. If your going to critique Rogers then the same has to be said of Lesnar who has had half as many fights as Rogers. If Rogers was in the UFC guys would be singing a diffrent tune. Theres is absolutely nothing wrong with Rogers as an opponent and equally nothing wrong with Lesnar as an opponent for Fedor. Both have distinct limitations but both have great advantages in size and power over Fedor. Skills of course pay the bills but this is MMA..
