Brett Rogers a better boxer than Shane Carwin - PROOF INSIDE

Discussion in 'MMA Forum' started by monaroCountry, Jul 6, 2010.

  1. Brett Rogers is a bigger hitter than Carwin. If Shane can frighten Brock with his punches, imagine what Brett Rogers can do. I think Brett would actually have a very good chance of winning against the punch shy Brock Lesnar.

Brett Rogers prior to Fedor - June 6 2009
    Win: 10–0
    KO (Punches): 6
    TKO (Knees/Punches): 3
    Submission (Punches): 1

Shane Carwin at the same time - March 7, 2009
    Win: 11–0
    KO (Punches): 3
    TKO (Knees/Punches): 3
    Submission: 5

I think the HW outside of the UFC are ALOT better then most give credit for. If Brett isn't ranked higher then Carwin its only because of the hype machine. Watching Lesnar takedown Shane and slowly move into that choke was agonizing. Seemed i could of done that. Atleast Rogers got beat by 2 proven fighters. Carwin got beat by a faster whiter version of Bob Sapp!

Why does this even matter? They are both poor boxers. Thats why they are not boxers...

Carwin has terrible boxing....huge puncher though. Half his wins were done from the ground though.

Carwin would get dominated standing against Cain, Overeem, JDS....but not Brett Rogers

He might be (he's not); but he is a million times worse as a fighter.

And what are you basing that on? MMA according to Beebs? GTFO with your bull****. If Rogers was a wrestler and in the UFC you'd be swinging from his jock like a stripper tricking for tips. There is NO difference between the two. If anything Rogers striking is better as its abundantly clear he has the heavier hands. Either way its academic as both are rookies in MMA. Your bull**** assertion that Carwin is better is only based in your absurd manlove for wrestler and all thats UFC.

To be frank the boxing of both men is pretty suspect. There not bonafide strikers. There just big men with heavy hands as would be expected for 260lb plus men. Nothing more or less.

  13. This is the biggest baddest boxer in the UFC............if I didnt know Shane, I would have thought that the guy holding the mitts was the fighter, he seems to be doing most of the work in their workout. Its funny that Carwin started gassing from this simple and short workout.

Nothing impressive about that at all. Anyone can look good doing pad work and bag work. Pad's dont hit back. Carwins camp have always made a big deal about stamina being so great. That clearly doesnt seem to be the case although il give a bly as he went for the KO and blew his load. But he should not be looking tired after a minute and a half of pad work. Thats a joke. If i was Carwin id work on take downs instead. As he's hands are heavier than Brocks and he has the better GnP. Personally i think he's in love with his power.
