I could tell by his body language that something was wrong. His comments after the fight lead me to believe that he'll announce his retirement soon. I can't help but believe he took this fight to collect one last paycheck. It's not Wlad's fault that Brewster tanked it, but i would hardly consider this a major win and career boost. The guy who really set Wlad back was Sanders. Personally, I would like to see them have a rematch. At least Sanders would make him earn a win, and quite frankly, I wouldn't put it past Sanders to pull another upset.
Wlad was too much today....great jab, great right hand, great ring generalship. He was just the better fighter tonight and Lamon didn't want to take any more punishment, considering all the beatings he has taken in the past. Lamon deserves to be paid - it would be a crime if he wasn't
You can't tell me his heart was in this one. No power shots were landed at all. He quit plain and simple. I suppose if he signed a contract he deserves to get paid, but he didn't earn it. Wlad did nothing impressive. He even seemed embarrased by the whole thing.
Not impressive? Sure he was disappointed at the end, but he dominated Brewster and was hitting him early and often. His jab looked great and he kept his distance real well.
I really don't think Brewster tried, he simply showed up. I'm not ripping Wlad but a heavy bag would have had more life than brewster did tonight.
