I haven't seen Brewster since the Wlad II fight...but man did he look hopeless.

    Toney UD.

James and Toney aren't shot...just past their best days. Brewster could still beat most HW in the division as well as James...it's a good fight for the division as a whole but James should get by with his skills. They are good freinds so this should be intersting.

That's pretty soon. Have they already started training camp?
Is 2 months enough for Toney to get into proper shape? Because I don't believe he spends a lot of his free time in the gym.

Toney-Johnson was never more than a rumour..
Toney-Tony Thompson in dec. is likely to happen.

word on the street is that Toney is in decent shape and works out regularly, so I think he can take a fight on short notice.

I think Brewster will beat Toney by UD, should be a good fight though.

    Makes more sense.

I will be shocked if Toney ever steps in the ring with Thompson.

    Excellent fight.

Toney could beat Brewster at this point, but i wouldn't be shocked to see Brewster win, either. He still has that power, and he won't have to chase Toney like he did Wlad.

Toney would be way better off fighting Brewster than Thompson. Thompson would out-work and easily outreach Toney all night from the 6'6" tower down to Toney's 5'9".

I'm huge Brewster fan, and have been since I seen him fight live his loss against Eitenne in 2000, but to be honest, I think Brewster will lose. I think Toney has enough left in the tank to make Brewster look bad in there, Toney wins this one by UD.

    Why would you be shocked?

For Toney a fight with Thompson makes more sense, Thompson is ranked higher than Brewster and it's not like Toney has time to spare anymore. He needs to go all-in now, and as soon as possible.

What I still don't get: Toney and Brewster have the same trainer, Shadeed Solouki. How can they fight each other while having the same trainer? This isn't the amateurs..

I agree that Thompson is a more dangerous opponent for Toney than Brewster, especially since Toney knows Brewster well. Thompson is a risky fight for Toney, but at this stage he needs to take that big risk if he wants to have another title-shot in the near future. All or nothing. A win over Brewster wouldn't help Toney much to climb the rankings, but a win over Thompson would put him right back in the mix. Toney-Thompson could even be an eliminator for the IBF, both fighters are rated there.
