Leonardo José "Hollywood" Sánchez Gamboa is officially 18-1-1 but should be undefeated. He got hosed against Khuseyn Baysangurov in Armenia this past January.

Fellow young rising Venezuelan stars Brian Rodríguez (not to be confused with 19 year old Texan prospect Bryan "Pretty Boy" Rodríguez), Gleybert Alexander Maia Guzmán, and José Aray round out the featured quadruple-header.

 

Originally it said it was going to start at 2pm; now they've pushed it out to 4pm.

This fight was mental. They just wailed on each other for four rounds straight. No technique, no defense, just haymakers flying in both directions.

José Aray fought surprisingly early on the card, a few bouts in, defeating José Jesús Farfan Aponte via TKO3 with body shots in their scheduled ten rounder.

 

Diego Carbajal vs. Marlembrón José Acuña Andrade, 8 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Carbajal in the powder-blue trunks with fringe is 20 years old with an 8-0 record.

Acuña in the white trunks with black trim is a decade older, and comes in 13-13-1.

I think we know how this is supposed to go.

Flurrying like hell to get a first round stoppage, a bit overeager. Landed a bad low blow, lucky not to get a point taken.

"rapido y fuerte" - fast & strong - is the commentators' descriptive of his combinations, and it's accurate...but he needs to calm down and work on his placement. He's jabbing into the gloves and then looping rights into the hips or shoulders for the most part.
