Today at the Mayweather-Maidana Weigh-In, Brian Kenny stated that Keith Thurman is a more dangerous WW than Manny Pacquiao.

Is Thurman more dangerous than Pacquiao (implying that he's better) or is Brian Kenny crazy?

Shamelessly bragging, that I told you so from his early days...Thurman had the aura of an ATG and so far delivering :toney

Unfortunately Floyd is past his mental/physical best, he already made up his mind, to retire undefeated and make tons of $...which means no Thurman fight...No need to setup Thurman for **** or inject him with Morrison serum or set him up with a corner man who will betray him and wrap his hands improperly :nono

Thurman is #1 and Floyd is classy enough to accept it, he will not retire and hope to set up Thurman so he can return with Thurman off the scene...As fans we still want to see:

    Floyd vs Porter
    Floyd vs Khan
    Floyd vs Canelo II

    Then

    Floyd vs Pacman

Thurman is #1 Welterweight, nothing to prove there

i have no desire to see floyd in the same ring with khan, canelo or pac.

i'd much rather see him in with porter, thurman and garcia.

Kenny and Thurman work for the same network. Nothing to see here. Thurmans resume is a ball of **** right now. We already been thru this with people hyping up Broner before he fought anyone, smh

He has more power and explosiveness than Pacquaio at WW at this stage in their careers. He is also improving, which is key. He is being managed and matched well so far, and is naturally a big WW. Thing is with Thurman is that we don't know his ceiling yet, so its reasonable to suggest he is more dangerous in terms of he might have more KO power and explosiveness than post-KO6 Pac.

IMO Pacquaio still has better speed, movement, experience and probably an edge on defense also (defense is the area I'd like to see Thurman improve before he steps up to the world stage). Pacquaio is obviously more proven with a great resume and is probably a better boxer.

It depends on who they are fighting of course but I would say it is possible that Pacquaio is tougher to beat but Thurman is possibly more dangerous, if that makes sense.

Thurman was asked if Floyd would duck him once he beats Maidana, which will make Thurman Floyd's WBA mandatory. He answered it very diplomatically, but did say that he highly respects those who face their mandatories.

I'm not convinced Porter is in the cards for Mayweather either, but we will see.

Porter and Thurman, sure, but Garcia would be beaten even worse than Maidana will be. Garcia can be outboxed easily if you defuse his mid-range hooks, and Floyd is the best boxer of his generation. Garcia doesn't have an inside game, so mauling Floyd to win a round or two wouldn't happen. Garcia would be a horrible mismatch... Please no.

Pacquiao is a proven commodity. Thurman is still wet behind the ears. Maybe Thuurman is more dangerous, maybe he's not. It's hard to say at this point.

I too am surprised by the amount of people wanting to see Garcia - Mayweather: Garcia was outboxed by Herrera and by way past it Judah and Morales at times, his victory over Matthysse was a great one but Matthysse is a whole different ball game to Mayweather. Plus Garcia has never fought at 147.

Big Thurman fan, but it's too early to tell. Him, Spencer, Valdez, and Diego Delahoya have the potential and talent to be world champs, tho Thurman and of course Loma are closest to winning a belt. He needs to beat Porter or at least an Alexander, someone who's relevant at 147 first. Then we'll know for sure if he belongs at the elite level or not, but he's looking promising.

Thurman looks about 20 lbs. heavier than Pac, so, yeah, he is.

This is pretty much my view, too. I still need some questions answered about Thurman before I join the party. Such as, can he be smothered inside? Does he have an inside game? How good is his chin? And others.

Stylistically, I'd probably take Porter over Thurman if I had to bet on a fight between them tomorrow, depending on odds.
