U guys think magee will take a Danish hatrick? It seems that Kessler is interestet... He wanna stop the danishkiller.

I think Kessler will ko magee. Magee has no movement, and is a good target for kesslers jabs :)

Both of Magee's KO losses came by uppercuts (Froch's right upper, and Bute's left - two guys who are in about the same ballpark as Kessler in terms of power). His punch resistance is generally pretty good, unless he's hit with something from below.

It isn't the strongest weapon in Kessler's arsenal, but he does have an uppercut and does toss it in the mix from time to time. :think

It would be a race to see who could land their finishing blow first - Magee with his bread and butter straight left to the body, or Kessler with his dark horse right uppercut to the bottom of the chin. :D

Most likely Kessler's jab will be important in beating Magee, but i seriously doubt Magee will be as easy target as Boudhla was. I would take in account more Kessler's uppercut.

i watched bute toy with magee live at the bell center, it was clear then that magee looked like an amature, and in the vid posted here looked like 2 amatures at amature fight night...

what disapointed me when i was at the fight with bute vs magee is that it was clear early on bute could have ko him before 4, but he really wanted a certain type of ko so he just continually tried for it until it worked...

Ward managed to take from Kessler's game the uppercut using footwork on the outside and by moving very fast inside. With Froch, Kessler relied more on straights and hooks mostly because Froch has decent technique and matched Kessler in reach; but against smaller european SMW that stood in front of him Kessler's uppercut was an important factor.

by his own admission Bute hit Magee to the head early but had no results, he even said irish have a hard skull; his left begun swelling so with the 5th round he started his bodywork; Magee was game for 11 rounds against Froch and for 10 against Bute. For that only he deseves a tip of the hat.

Interesting post. I watched the fight also and dont really disagree with what you saw, but where you said Magee is known for a good chin, I have to disagree with. Magees chin isnt very good at all, and never really has been.
I dont rate Magee and have never been a fan of his, but credit where it is due. Magee has won the British, IBO, European and WBA int SMW titles.

    Magee has now beaten -
    world rated Markussen away,
    world rated Larsen away,
and Magee looked the winner against undefeated world rated Tsypko away who some felt looked unlucky against Lacy,
Some felt Magee had done enough against world rated R Reid,
Magee was only one point down on two cards against Froch before the end.

Magee has a better SMW resume The Ring mags numbers 5-10, better than Bika, Oousthuizen, Groves, Johnson, Dirrell or Abraham.
Magee would be considered a step up for Oousthuizen or Groves

I'm still very much in the poorhouse, but "The Brian Bomber" got me off vSkid Row!
    Bute rematch anyone?
Brian's the sort of honest slugger who's book would probably me a far more engrossing read than some of the elite superstar efforts. He's never going to be a premier attraction, but I'd like to see him get a big earner with Groves.I just don't see him having enough for Kessler, though I've no doubt he'd make it a fight.

    What up PTF?

Do you think Magee could grind Ward up more than Bika did? :hey

I would be quite disappointed if Ward ever fought Brian.I'd just like to see an honest toiler get a few good earning fights for his retirement.Groves would be my choice.
I'm actually glad Ward is taking a breather.Means Froch/Bute becomes far more likely and Froch will stop Bute inside a round or quicker then retire after stopping Ward (corner throws towel in the 2nd):yep :good

Groves? He's Andre Dirrell's "boy", no way he fights Ward. Dirrell would be torn between the two camps. :yep

I got the week off, drinking quite a bit for a Monday night...

...I might post my theory on how Carl beats Bute (for a lucrative rematch to happen in Montreal). :good
