Fine if you cant beat em join em....Magee's fought at European level for 6 years now, Smith's just getting there can see why it didnt happen. Not to say Smith isnt a better fighter than the guy Brians fighting but if the money werent right its a no-go

fair enough. I just thnk the fight was there to be made, and if brian did not want a 5 fight tie in fair enough, but i am sure that stumbling block could have been overcome.
Did smith really need another fight to get in line to fight with magee, when he already had him at the table??
Oh hang on is it the ebu, or the other title magee has got??
    ****ing confused now! ha ha.
Either way, boxing is about risks, and fighting at british/euro level means that these risks come along almost every time you step in the ring.
I accept brian might not have liked the deal and it is is his right to walk away.
With reagrds to the lonsdale, i love the belt, best in the world IMO, but for true recognition, you need to fight at a higher level than that i agree, so i understand magee not being bothered about being nominated, but why still not see if a deal could be done, where smith vacates, and fights for the euro, and a deal where both parites are happy?
