Smith is third in the WBO's rankings.
Green is second, (and is of course tied up in the super six), and Gutknecht is first, although i'm pretty sure he'll fall a couple of places in next months rankings are announced.
A victory against Smith would probably guarantee him a shot against Stieglitz.

Mandanda sums him up well, recently Magee wasted some time imo going to light heavy then dropping back to super middleweight. He seems to have gotten into good shape now and is making a good go of it.

The Tsypko fight from what i have read is a fight Magee could and should have won. The Oakey fight i think not 100% sure but i thought Mickey Vann had the right scorecard or something similar to it.

Magee's been very unlucky with the odd dodgy decisions or an injury when he seems to be building up steam. Add this to him being at light heavy a division where he could do something domestically but not really on a world level and its been pretty stop start.

Hopefully all his injuries are behind him and this fight with Smith can get him that last push for a title shot.

first clip. for some more footage.

dude has served domestic boxing well. very good technical boxer, with alot of heart and precision. very similar to his brother. even though having all the tools is a fighter straight up, all class and no flash.

his problems where mangerial and i guess a lack of some charisma. also, we had a joke that you never know he had a fight is lined up until he had the fight.

yeah some very bad reports about his loss to tsypko. and his fight with reid was pretty good but shoudl of been a draw.

froch's best win for some time.
