Prime VS Prime for the weight class-as if it needs to be said. HOFer, Brian Mitchell was never stopped and holds a victory over every man he faced.
It should be mentioned that Mitchell never fought any Pacquiaos or Barreras :D. Everyone Morales faced at 130, he holds a victory over, although not necessarily at the same weight. How would this match-up play out?

I pick erik by clear UD.Mitchell was a very good fighter but not on that level.
But whats impressive about him is he won his title and had to defend it abroad everytime because of the problems in south africa the place was blacklisted. So he was a true road warrior.

Mitchell by UD. Morales was a bit shopworn by the time moved up to 130, and Mitchell was a damn fine fighter, a great technician + relentless aggressor.

I just cant see that happening. The Morales that beat Pacquiao would beat the best Mitchell if u ask me.

What would you say the Morales that beat Pacquiao brought that Tony Lopez didn't?

Interestingly enough, I JUST watched that fight (first fight). Man if there's any fighter who lends himself to Tony Lopez in the razor thin fight discussion, it'd be Miguel Cotto. Lopez had so many fights that were so ridiculously close.

Brian Mitchell was slick as a ribbon against Jackie Beard the 2nd time, and for that matter the first time they fought.....not comparing Morales to Jackie Beard, but only using that as the best Mitchell performance......I could see Morales taking the first 3 rounds, until Mitchell got into a solid rhythm and figured/timed Morales, making him miss and hitting him with counters. Gotta go Mitchell SD.....always figure a judge would favor Morales because of his style moreso than Brian's.

Lopez warrants being rated high, and he wasn't just a "good game fighter"; he was even more accomplished and successful at 130 than Morales was. He was very good champion in a very tough jr. lightweight era. He beat John Molina twice, Rocky Lockridge twice, and Jorge Paez, and after losing to Mitchell went on to win another title at 135 and was a contender at 140.

    On what basis?

Seriously? That's a shame. I think he'd make a good fight with Morales, Barrera, Marquez and Pac. Fit right in there with them at 130.

Now why would you say that when you picked Morales to knock him out:huh Or are yu just trying to be annoying by insuating that Morales needed the judges to beat Manny.

Puuuuuuuleaaaaaase Morales won that fight by2 to 3 points on my card.
