I'm sure avid fans will know of Brian Roberts. I can't find any info on the net regarding the recent death of this aboriginal legend. Any help would be appreciated. WTF happened???
Was saddened to hear the news too mate - DSS was the source I heard it from. (DSS interviewed Brian's brother last show)

Saw Brian lose a decision to Wilf Gentzen in 1986. He was well past it by then but you could see he'd been a good fighter in his day. He fought Azumah Nelson for the commonwealth feather title some years earlier RIP Brian
Brian Roberts v 'Flash' Malcolm At the start of their respective careers they had 3 goes at each other Josey - the first 2 resulted in draws and the decider a points win for Roberts. Brian Roberts v Paul Ferreri Roberts most frequent opponent was Paul Ferreri. They were matched up 8 times in all, and for various titles. The breakdown was Roberts 1 win, 1 draw, and the remaining 6 to Ferreri. The only stoppage wins were twice to Ferreri, and only then in the 15th and final round on both occassions.
Well CHB if Brian was living i'n that sort of company then my description of him was spot on ,,,,Warrior .
A guy with the ability and heart of Brian Roberts would dominate in today's Aussie fight scene. How things have slipped in the past couple of decades, particularly at bantamweight where we once had a string of world class performers. (I'm not forgetting Vic here incidentally)
Australia produced and contested against some incredible Bantams over the years.. Certainly a local division that's floundering at the moment.
Yeah, the thing that really bought it home was looking at the Aussie bantam ratings the other day - the list was about one or two fighters in it's entirety!
