"I am the referee" Ian John-Lewis would have stopped those fights during the singing of the national anthems!
will be tough for Brian as he lacks power and will be up against some powerful fighters. wish him well though he always puts on a good fight
Rose just needs to get a couple of decent paydays an invest his cash wisely, sadly really cant see a future for him in boxing. I also did lose a lot of respect for him after his tantrum vs Jones, just looked a **** an didnt show his opponent any respect by doing what he did.
He was a Euro level LMW who got an absolute gift against Maciel. If managed well, he will get a shot at a couple of decent pay days potentially.
Spot on. Lack of power being the biggest issue. He also was knocked out by Carson - a blown up welter - so taking punches at 160 might be an issue for Rose too.
On the flip side, if Brian was really struggling with making the weight it would have had an adverse effect on his power and durability. I will wait till i see him in against a Middleweight before totally writing him off but tbh i only see him as a domestic level fighter that did brilliant to get to where he did.
Very true. Had a lot of admiration for Rose in the 2nd Jones fight. Very *****y performance. But he doesn't excel in any department to take his career to next level. Every boxer needs at least one area of excellence at higher levels: power, speed, chin... etc.
At 1 point his timing was excellent and that helped him with his lack of power but as you get older if you don't work on it every day then natural timing can diminish and you can get hit with shots you would normally dodge.
Well he'll need that timing against taller men with longer reach at middleweight. I'll watch his next fight with interest.
