What does everyone think of this fight? It was the right move to make for Rose IMO. How do y'all think it will go down? Other than that date being my Birthday D:yep) I've got something else to look forward too with Rose having his chance to get revenge after being KTFO against Maxwell in 2010. Rose had been boxing well against the brilliantly named Maxwell until being caught by a ****ing monstrous right hand and being sparked out. The worrying thing was that Maxwell wasn't considered much of a puncher at the time. It looked like Rose had been derailed as a prospect, but he came roaring back into contention late last year with a brilliant performance against Arron to outbox the favourite in stylish fashion. Can he put the knockout Loss to Maxwell behind him, and exercise his superior boxing skills to beat the tough journeyman, or will he let his prior loss haunt him? :think
:banana That excitement is for it being your birthday. Haha no seriously I'm really looking forward to this! Hopefully as good as last time. I'd expect Rose to be able to get the win this time however- often in these type of rematches, I tend to slightly favour the man who won the 1st fight even if they were such a big underdog and were again (for example, Salido with Juanma & Peterson with Khan). But this time I just can't see it. It wouldn't shock me too much if Maxwell won it but I see Rose as being a deserved heavy favourite after beating Arron last time out.
:yep:good Oh and welcome to Team Mexico ma brother :happy:deal I reckon Rose will win but you never know.......his confidence could be a big factor in this fight. That fact that Maxwell could cause so much damage to him, whilst hardly being a considerably hard puncher must have been a huge blow to Rose's confidence. He should win, but if he's not 100% sure of winning, we might see him let Maxwell come on to him and outwork him, which would be a shame because Rose is a skilled fighter. If Brian can utilise the momentum of his win over Arron, then he beats Maxwell with ease IMO.
It's the sort of fight that Rose ought to be able to win easily, but in the back of his mind there'll be that KO loss last time. Maxwell can be hurt himself mind, he'll be hoping that Howard Foster isn't refereeing, that's for sure.
Thanks! I'm still not really sure what I'm meant to do on it, is it just picking who you think will win the fight and how? Haven't been in that thread at all to be honest until LP asked if I wanted to join. Yeah I agree. I think the only way Rose getting beat in this is if he mentally doesn't turn up. Skill wise he should have the measure of Maxwell. But this has been a division of shocks domestically in truth recently. Arron beating Webb then Rose beating Arron, 2 results I wouldn't have been comfident picking. But it also provides some of the most exciting fights at British level so I can't wait for it.
I didn't think Rose was doing that great against Maxwell in the first fight (at least, that's what I perceived from the limited footage shown by Sky). It seemed like he was edging a close one before he got stopped. However, it should be noted that he wasn't mentally in that fight really. Maxwell causes some trouble for pretty much every fighter on the domestic scene, but I don't think Rose will have too many problems this time around.
be a great fight, was a brutal k.o. last time.Max deserves this shot, have alook at his record.Hes mixed at a good level.
Now that you've alluded to it, I could see Maxwell being stopped British-style if Rose turned up the heat. Hope it doesn't happen like, but it's always a sizeable probability. Yeah, basically just picking the fight. Oh and bantering in the thread. In fact I think insulting other teams and their players is 90% of the whole competition :yep Yeah, it's grabbed my attention has LMW. Normally I'm not big on the domestic scene, but the fights with Arron/Webb/Rose and Maxwell's fights with Arron and Rose have all been intriguing. No outcome would really surprise me too much in the rematch if I'm honest.
