Don't forget Lee Purdy as well. I know exactly what you're saying though it's only a matter of time before somebody gets hurt from this irresponsible behaviour. Gavin Rees was sent abroad to fight Broner who looked like a Monster compared to him, Brian Rose shouldn't have been a mandatory for Demetrius Andrade in the first place and Tony Bellew could have been brain damaged because he was so weight drained when he fought Stevenson, but the fact that Lee Purdy was sitting in a sauna with Hearn Snr the night before his weigh with Devon Alexander proves that Matchroom exploit fighters like no other.
No one is forcing them into these fights. Hearn asks if they want it. Its a fighters dream to fight for a world title. Of course any fighter would jump at the chance to take it. Purdy new he had to hit the sauna. He didnt have to take the fight. Nobody trapped him in tge sauna. He got in by his own choice. Hearns not there babysitter
It doesn't matter if Purdy, Rees, Bellew or Rose all fought in their back garden against Alexander/Broner/Stevenson/Andrade, the outcomes would all have been the same. To try and get champions from America to go over to the UK to fight guys who have a relatively low profile and fan-base I imagine costs an astronomical amount, and would leave virtually no purse for the other guy. All Eddie can do is give these guys their opportunities, he can't turn water into wine, it's up-to them to take their chances.
Brook and Bellew don't have relatively low profiles over here, in fact both have massive fan bases over here and can attract 10,000 + to their fights EASY, but they both have been sent abroad like lambs to the slaughter.
****ing hell, Ryan the Frank ****** fan boy is a clueless disgrace. A man who sits on the doll tells everyone how successful businesses should operate. Couldn't make it up.
Brook's a different story as Porter wasn't keen on traveling to England at all, and neither were GBP. Bellew does have a relatively low profile over here, he's certainly not one who can dictate terms and be the A-side in a title fight. It simply isn't viable to get the likes of Stevenson and Porter to travel to England to fight guys like Brook and Bellew and still have them make decent coin. By the way, fighters who aren't the A-side should always have to travel to the champions home country, there isn't anything wrong with that whatsoever and it's how boxing should be.
Exactly, but you are forgetting that the person you are responding to lives in la la land and doesn't understand how businesses work
