He has made improvement since his losses to Craig Mcewan and James Kirkland. He was good beating Sabastian Demers, Sergio Mora and Eloy Saurez. I think Brian Vera and Andy Lee have potential to be great fighters, and whoever wins will proof weather they are just a good contender or a future champion.

Andy's got more talent, but Andy's also got a tendency to brawl when maybe he'd win if he boxed, instead- the first Vera fight was a perfect example of it.

More than anything, the rematch will show us how Lee's grown mentally as a fighter. If he maintains discipline and boxes, he'll win. If he falls into a fight like he's prone to do, Vera could definitely pick up the win again.

I'm really excited about this one. Huge Lee fan, I think he'll do it but I'm going to be really nervous throughout the fight because Vera is tough and dangerous. He's definitely improved. Has become much more patient and is picking his shots better. If he comes in with the right game plan, Vera could win.

Sorry but Vera will never be a great fighter and probably will never win a title. And the way Lee has been loking neither will he.

Whether young Andy boxes wisely, or ends up in another dog fight, may not be entirely up to him. One of the problems a lot of guys have with Vera is that it is damn hard to get his respect. He keeps coming forward under almost any circumstances. Recently he made it a whole lot easier to keep the pressure on by developing a much better jab.

Excellent point. I'm actually tipping vera to win again despite being a lee fan. I think vera may just hav
    e his number.

I noticed in the Mora fight that Vera wasn't just slinging right hands from the floor. He was coming forward behind his jab effectively, and used the jab to set some things up. That's basic boxing 101, but for Vera it represents an important improvement.

If it's a 10 rounder. Lee will win fairly convincingly. If it's 12 rounds Vera has a chance to capitalize on Lee's poor stamina.

Exactly. He also looked good in the Eloy Suarez fight ( If you saw that too. ).

I am bring this thread back up since ESB just confirmed it. See if we can get some more opinions.

I fear this may be the case although I hope Andy boxes clever like McEwan did against Vera .

Andy seems to lose concentration during fights and when he switches off he gets dragged into a war.

That's how he lost to Vera the first time around.

If Lee uses his boxing skils then it should be a handy nights work for him. If not then this could get ver messy. Also the **** should start throwing some combinations. This one punch **** he was doing against McEwan was no good.

That's a good point. Lee looks totally different when he throws a 3 or 4 punch combo. Vera has really improved and been in the wars too so that experience will stand him good. Also, If Lee puts vera on the canvas at any point, Vera will have the positive attitude pick himself up again an remember their first fight. On the other hand, I don't see Lee chasing the ko. It's actually a tough one to predict but I think Lee will ud Vera or stop him late. It might not be without scares but Lee's stamina seemed to have improved in the McEwan fight and I heard he has got an S&C coatch since then.
