Listed on BoxRec, for Viloria's WBO Flyweight Title, April 1 in the Philippines. Of course, BoxRec has been wrong before, but this seems to be a pretty solid 2nd defense for Viloria, avenging his first ever career defeat. Omar Nino has been inactive for more than a year now since he lost his title to Keb Baas. He is scheduled to face Sammy Gutierrez early next month.

Good defense of the title. Viloria had a killer 2011, only matched or surpassed by Donaire or Ward.

I woudn't mind a fight with Sosa as well. If Viloria is going to try to avenge his first loss, might as well go for his second as well.

Id love for him to stay a champ until another pinoy (Saludar) can take it.

A Saludar or Melindo fight would be great. Melindo is Viloria's mando, but I think Viloria would do all he can to avoid an all-pinoy match up, similar to when he held the title at 108 and Juanito Rubillar was his mandatory.

An article on the scene indicates a card on July 14th with Marquez/Gesta and Donaire/Arce in a "Mexico vs. Filipino" theme. It mentioned Viloria being on that as well. Edgar Sosa would qualify for that, and I wouldn't mind seeing it. Hernan Marquez too would fit the bill. As a former Donaire opponent that would be natural to stick him on there, and I assume H. Marquez is Mexican, no? Also, a Segura re-match, although the first was decisive, would also be grand to watch. That would be one hell of a PPV. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I'd pick Viloria-Gonzalez anyday of the week over Mayweather-Pacman. It seems the more Viloria paces himself the harder it'll be for anyone to beat him. Its like he's found his second wind in his career. I think Viloria-Gonzales might be a modern classic like a mini Pryor-Arguello.

Good call on Gonzales. Man comes highly skilled and would have picked him easily a year or so ago. Now this is a pick em fight as Brian seems to be at peak form.

That would be one hell of a fight. Chocolatito has the tools to give anybody problems in and around his weight class :deal

Yes, Marquez is a Mexican. Viloria has a lot of options at 112. Gonzalez, Marquez, Sosa, Pong, Mthalane, and even the three-headed pinoy combo of Fuentes, Melindo, and Saludar.

Actually, I think that Marquez isn't part of Top Rank. I think he is promoted by Zanfer Promotions of Mexico. But Marquez has been in multiple Top Rank cards before as Zanfer and Top Rank have partnered up in multiple occasions, so I don't think that should be a problem. :thumbsup
