Magdaleno is caught early with an overhand right. Martinez is waving the left jab uselessly in the air, looking for his big right hand. He scores one and backs Magdaleno up. Magdaleno tries to dive in and hold. Another right dropped on him by Martinez, backing him away. "Left eye cut, caused by a punch!" yells Caiz. Martinez is wildly hooking at Magdaleno and thrashing his right arm down. Magdaleno is able to navigate through and position himself against Martinez, but can't hold the determined champ still. Magdaleno has to get moving, and is caught pulling out by more chopping right hands. Martinez is picking up steam. Wildly pumped out 1-2 by Martinez, chasing Magdaleno.

Martinez needs the 11th, 12th, and one more knockdown to retain his title with a draw on my card.

 

IB funfact: Magdaleno's family is from Mexico prior to immigrating up north, but he & brother Jesse are in fact 3rd or 4th generation Italian.

 

Round 11

Martinez is relentlessly pursuing Magdaleno and dropping right hands over the chasm. Magdaleno bounces around on his bike, playing keep-away with quick deterrent flurries but nothing turned over with spite. Martinez is missing a lot coming forward but knocking Magdaleno off his rapid shuffling rhythm a bit even when his right lands only partially with a bit of glove interference.
