Round 6

Miranda is fighting his way inside, but not landing cleanly. Mayol is circling and taking his time getting going. Miranda throws some jabs and overhands wading in, but Mayol connects with a counter left hook. Miranda is fought back to the ropes as Mayol starts to triple his jab. Right to the body by Mayol. Miranda is hurt. Flurries to the head by Mayol as Miranda leans back against the ropes. Clinch. Miranda slaps Mayol on the flank with his left as his right is held. Miranda misses a left hook and gets countered with a short right. Mayol slaps at his head. Clinch. Miranda is pushed to the ropes, then caught in a headlock as he shoves his way off them.

Round 7

Left hook to the body by Mayol. Miranda keeps coming forward, hurling and missing. Clean left hand counter upstairs by Mayol. Miranda is just barely missing Mayol with his wide sweeping bombs coming forward. Mayol drifts back toward the ropes, then circles out, then moves in to clinch - giving Miranda different looks defensively. Not much countering from Mayol this round, but he isn't needing much as he's preventing Miranda from landing anything. Miranda is throwing nothing but arm punches now, swinging slowly at the air. Counter jabs to the face by Mayol. Clinch, and Miranda tries to bash his way out with a left uppercut. Mayol is wrestling a bit, letting Miranda force him into some excessive grappling. Flush right hand by Mayol. Miranda takes it. Body combo by Mayol.

Can't take a shot like Tony can, but he can recover just as well. :good

 

Honestly, even though all three knockdowns were scored with headshots, it's been body shots that Mayol has truly hurt Miranda with at times tonight.

All the knockdowns were set up by hurtful body shots not long before the headshots that scored them..

Miranda also winces more when Mayol goes low than he does when getting banged flush in the face.

 

Round 8

Wild left and right uppercuts by Mayol from the outside. Body shots by Mayol. Miranda is now running, bad sign. Miranda is on his bike, hugging the ropes and doing everything he can to avoid Mayol. Jabs on the way in by Mayol. Hook to the body, and Miranda comes forward to hold. Miranda ducks on the outside and Mayol leaps in to land a left hook to the temple. Miranda flops forward into Mayol, winging a sloppy left hook to the neck. Lots of clinching, Miranda not letting go. The ref warns them both to watch their heads in there. Very ugly action. Body shots traded in the clinch, all slaps. Miranda ducks down low, head aimed down, and throws some blind overhands as Mayol backs up along the ropes.
