I think this has historical implications for the Classic team.

So who is in favor of weight consolidation? And who's against it?

Yeah, this has gone way too far. I lost it when the " Undisputed WBC or WBA champion" was said, it might unironically become a thing later on given how many "champions" there are in a single sanctioning body, and that would give the sport a major low blow.

The reason Boxing was so succesful back in the 20's until the 50's was because it was the every man's sport, if you worked hard, dreamed enough and had the proper discipline, you could make it in boxing. Everyone looked at the World champion of their division as simply the best, an idol to behold, and even being a contender meant something back then. The alphapet organizations and the extra weights just take all that prestige and magic of the sport away.

You know In a backwards way we have a SHW division in all but name. Bridgeweight is where Foreman, Ali, Frazier, Holmes and Joe Louis would all be today. HW has finally been inherited by the “giants”

Excellent work Rummy. I suggest again that you create a Paetron. You have a loyal consistent fan base with a pretty big presence, for a guy whose catchphrase is “I don’t know sh1t about boxing” you are one of best covering our sport on YouTube (Bar very few) I would like to see you make more $ for your work and have your very high quality videos reach more screens.

Better your great work then the typical garbage in my suggested “boxer with 9000IQ goes God mode” or “The next mayweather” all of course with photoshopped pictures in the thumbnail of Mike Tyson and Butterbean like wtf kinda click bait is Tyson and Butterbean?

I doubt that any of the aforementioned men would have been interested in this weight class, even if it was the one that came most naturally to them.

It is where they would be weight wise. Read my above post they pretty much created a SHW division by giving the smaller heavies a way out.

Put it this way, it will be worth less than the cruiserweight title.

If you don't believe me, look at the current rankings.

It’s like you’re responding to someone else. Lol What do I say to that? You’re right I had no idea a division that has existed for less time then the milk in my fridge would be horribly devoid of good fighters?

I don't think I'm going to make many friends with this...
I go along with almost all your points. As the main reason for the misery that the best do not fight against the best, are the organizations and their rankings. The rankings are complete BS!
At least 50% of all titles should be abolished.(Also in the interest of the organizations. they make fools of themselves...totally ridiculous). I think it will be unrealistic to abolish all titles except one. But please a maximum of 2!

About the weight classes: In my opinion, weight classes with 6-7 lbs difference simply do not make sense! The way i see it a signifficant distance is about + ~8-10% weight. so:

    Flyweight 112 lbs
    Bantamweight 118 lbs (+ 5,36%)
    Featherweight 126 lbs (+ 6,78%)
    Lightweight 135 lbs (+ 8,14%)
    Welterweight 147 lbs (+ 8,89%)
    Middleweight 160 lbs (+ 8,84%)
    Light Heavyweight 175 lbs (+9,38%)
    Cruiserweight 190 lbs (+8,57%) / 200 lbs (+14,29%)

I know back in the day 200 lbs Louis killed 260 lbs Carnera. But Louis was one of the greatest ever. + I think (especially with regards to the rule interpretation of today) fights with a reach or size difference of more than 15% are not fair anymore. When I think about how Lewis and Klitschko used their advantages in a rather unfair manner... (Stiff arm, allways pushing down smaller guys, clinching...). If we consider that the HW champions of the last 10 years had an average of ~235 lbs, I think it is necessary to have 2 weight classes between LHW and HW. I know how they did this totally s*cked...the whole implementation, the ranking, the attitude about sports, the phillosophy...everything. Even the name "Bridgerweight"...sounds awful to me.

I expect it to be the preserve of heavyweights who know they can never be champion, cruiserweights who lack the discipline to make weight, and possibly even cruiserweights who know that they are no match for the incumbent.

My own personal opinion is that they are saying okay to Modern Nutrition and Modern Training,(Steroids) It does not matters that at some point these practices were done, it still is bad for you later in life, consumed by cartoonish height and weight. Like the old saying goes, If It's Not Broken, Don't Try To Fix It. And I thought that the alphabet soup was bad enough.

Bridger weight should have been between Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight, which has an anomalous massive weight gap (literally and percentage wise) compared to the others. I don't understand why no one addresses it or talks about it in comparison to unneeded divisions.
