I wonder if it was about the back injury, made him throw his punches slower :think

Charr looked heavy and slow, just plodding around the ring. On poster said it best "Charr is mowing the lawn". Briedis goes to the ropes and throws a short right uppercut that hits Charr on the sweet spot and adds a quick left hook. Charr falls like John Tate, face first between the first and second rope and doesn't move. He is out for a few minutes.

Charr has always been limited, but could work the body with a wicked left hook, saw done of that tonight. His chin, previously cracked, was shattered tonight.

Hard to give an opinion on Breidis since Charr looked so bad. He certainly moves well.

I think if Charr had actually shown up Breidis would have had a comfortable points win, with Charr maybe winning a round or two. Charr looked much worse than he usually does, you can't just put it all on him being limited and just not that good in general, he literally had no life in him last night. He at least showed some life against Povetkin, and Vitali. Last night he was even more of a punching bag than he usually is.

You are right in saying that it is tough to give an opinion on the Latvian. He is a cruiser weight and showed a decent performance against Charr. However,I very much doubt that he can compete with most of the better heavies. He is just too small and lacks the necessary firepower at heavy weight.Sure,he knocked Charr out.**** happens.Doesnt mean that the Latvian is a true banger.I guess he can manage to be among the top 15 at the cruiser weight division.I cant really see him winnning a world title at cruiser weight though.
As for Charr I didnt get it why the hell he took that fight with that little known Latvian anyway.High risk, extremely little reward! Now he has a brute of a problem:beaten by a little known cruiserweight=very few future opportunities to get a decent purse.

Again, check out the BIB tourney fights on Youtube. Briedis can bang at either weight, he is just a very well kept secret.

If he gets fights, he wil be an interesting addition to the top 10-15 of either division, and this is not going to be his only upset either.

I had already seen two of his fights on eurosport before he beat Charr.
As for his chances at cruiser weight the division is just too strong and loaded at the moment;he will be no match for guys like Usyk or Lebedev IMO.
Nevertheless, you are absolutely right in saying that he will be an interesting addition to the top 15 of the cruiser weight division. And yes,he is well able to upset fighters like Wlodacryk or his newly crowned compatriot or Huck or.......... ................or.

    :huh

I'm pretty sure Briedis would need 1 punch not 1 round to ice Amir Khan.

    Khan fought Breidis Prescott.

On the subject, that was one heck of a KO. It looked like Charr got reckless at the end of the round and he sure paid for it. That KO came out of nowhere!

No, Mairis never sparred them. We had both Whyte and AJ at camp at the same time. tension was high.

As camp manager, I had to bring them together and tell them to keep the BS outside our camp. They shook hands and were totally cool with each other after that.

Later I heard it all blew up back in UK after camp

Charr should hang them up. Brutal knock out by Povetkin followed by another from a guy he was supposed to beat.
