Briedis vs. 70s Foreman

So was Foreman for most of his 70s career lol

 

Even at cruiserweight Jai isn't knocking guys out like Foreman was or having them out on their feet after a good combination

 

Usyk has good power but I have never seen his punches have the kind of effect Foreman’s did. It’s not even a debate. Usyk’s power is between 7 to 8 out of 10.
Foreman is undisputedly a 10/10 power wise. I mean come on.


As far as Perelta goes, he lasted the distance vs a green Foreman. Foreman stopped him the second time around . Claiming that Foreman was not a good ring cutter because Perelta took a green foreman the distance is comical

 

Wlad and Lennox hit harder imo

You literally rationalize all of Foreman's less then impressive performances lol. Fact of the matter is he never showed the mythical ring cutting you prescribe to him against any good movers. And no an Ali who deliberately chose to fight on the ropes because he knew he couldn't move for 15 rounds doesn't count.

 

Being able to cut the ring is different from accurately landing against a very defensive minded fighter. Zepeda cut the ring against Stevenson and still lost. He backed Young on the ropes numerous times and hurt him, but Young was very good defensively and a great counter puncher following up with combinations, faster than Briedis both hands and feet. Briedis doesn't use the angles Young does even if he is technically better. Young wasn't really making him turn all night which would be expected if Foreman couldn't cut the ring

 

How is it rationalizing? Did Foreman not stop Peralta in the rematch?

 

Only common opponents of Lewis and Foreman said Foreman hit harder. Pretty funny some people thinks Lewis hit harder just because he's bigger. At best they were in a similar ballpark of power

 

I would say similar ballpark is pretty possible yeah.

 

Yeah some them threads were pretty entertaining. Felt like that went on for months.

 

I remember when Foreman pointed at the moon and it blew up. Those were good times.

 

You should make your trolling more subtle.

If you'd have said that Bredis would avoid taking Foreman's hardest shots cleanly, or even solely that he'd take Foreman's shots ok without referring to his other opponents, most posters would disagree with you, but they may believe you were being genuine.

To say Foreman's shots are no more difficult to survive than those of Usyk and Jai, it's obvious that you're trolling, because the only alternative would be that you actually believe it to be true, and no one familiar with boxing can be that poor a judge of it. No one.

 

I'm sure Foreman would would like fighting a tough guy with great stamina who was within 10 pounds of his weight and never even came close to being stopped.

 

You’re arguing against a position I didn’t take.

I wasn’t saying Foreman’s power is literally equal to Usyk’s or Jai’s, I was making a durability and style argument. Briedis isn’t a static target, he’s extremely hard to stop, and he’s already shown he can absorb elite-level shots without folding.

If you think that doesn’t translate against Foreman, explain why. Calling it “trolling” instead of engaging the point isn’t an argument just a way to dismiss an argument instead of addressing it.
