Tunney in New Zealand 1943, and a chance to hear him say a few words. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPLoYMSVTdo
Speaking of Tunney, heres a really interesting film about his 1926 victory over Dempsey (training) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsGHTVfTLHA a Tunney tribute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2c2IYlq1HBw
Ive always thought that it was classic Tunney, who grew up a longshoremans son in the heart of New York, that he affected an upper class Connecticut accent later in life. The guy was the definition of a social climbing phony.
A reincarnation of Jim Corbett if ever there was one! They were both pretty efficacious at rewriting history as well!
Now see Corbett sounds like George Burns to me, which is about right since they were about the same age. LOL
It is a striking phenomenon in all branches of history, that the person that lives the longest, writes the history books!
Nor I ! No thanks needed from you and Pablod , I'm just happy to share a fleeting glimpse of a Heavyweight Champ.:good
