Totally agree, both camps should hang their heads in shame equally over this one. Respect to Green for what he did after this fight though, but he was as much to blame as Briggs IMO.
I agree. I was so pissed off when it happened because I was really psyched for the fight. When I saw the shape Briggs' was in when he came out to the ring I was so disappointed. It would have been a war if they were both in shape.
At their primes, I still think Green woulda stopped Briggsy, but **** yeah it would have been great while it lasted.
He gets that back and may sue Green for mental anguish. http://www.foxsports.com.au/other-s...after-2010-fight/story-e6frf5h3-1226314111605 When will this end.
Briggs was sick , broke and totally shot , but he had a legendary warrior reputation which we all know in boxing gives you one final crack at making good money against the right opponent. Well in hindsight he had 2 final cracks at making good money cause as we all know he and a few mates doubled up with the bookies . Briggsy decided that pride and past career does'nt put tucker on the table and pay bills and decided to cash in on his one and only shot at good money . Might have lost his reputation but can anyone on this forum tell me if they were in this same situation and had the opportunity that Briggs had they would'nt do it .
yep. if he knew he wasn't up to it, then don't fight. regardless, an 87yo briggs wouldn't flinch with the punch that he went down on, and if he thinks anyone believes the punch hurt him then he is DELUSIONAL. we r talking about a guy who previously couldn't be ko'd by a sledge hammer ffs. but a love tap at best puts him in lala land? yeah sure it does, pmsl.
See, he's carrying on like an arsehole now, trying to blame Green for forcing him to turn up for a fight :-( Yep. Unfortunately when in desperate times, sometimes blokes you thought were heroes show their true colours, hence my massive loss of respect for him.
