from this months boxing monthly...plan a, i knock him out in the first, plan b, i knock him out in the second, plan c.......haha, ya gotta love shannon also, CLAIMS to have asthma under control, can train and fight properly and feels great..... god id love a happy ending...go shannon nb. i am a ****in realist and know there is maybe more chance of pink camels ice skating up everest.....but hell, GO SHANNON..
As long Briggs can hold his breath I think he will always try to KO his opponents, even when it's a comback KO when trailing on all cards!! Offcourse he tries to save himself the trouble of fighting longer than his lungs allows him...
Shannon has knock out power from round 1 thru 12. Proof is against Sergei Liachovich. As most know, he was knocked out by Shannon with almost no time left in the 12th round, showing that Shannon IS dangerous ALL thu the fight.
He's going to start out strong, using the Shannon Briggs strut. Then he will unleash a quick counter left hook over one of Vitali's non comital arm punches. A few minutes later, he'll do the same thing, only it will be a counter right hand.
I can see shannon countering one of vitali's lazy left hook/uppercuts with a huge right hand. I can also see shannon chasing vitali around ala arreolla.
Arreola was able to land, so did "Kingpin" Johnson believe it or not. Vitali isn't impossible to hit and I want to see how he handles Briggs' power.
That's what I want to see. Honestly, I don't think anyone is gonna handle getting hit by Briggs too well. This juiced up version is a dangerous puncher. That said, Vitali takes over after some really scary moments.
So a man who was able to take the punches of Chris Arreola, Corrie Sanders, and the heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis still needs to have his chin tested according to you. What exactly can a clean land from Briggs show you that you don't already know?
