    Why say the obvious?

Anyone who gets excited for this fight is a loon.

I agree that Briggs does not deserve a title shot. I, however, think that he will give a fight. He will be prepaired.

Why Vitaliy KlitschKO is fighting him? It is because other top contenders did not want to fight him. And with brothers fighting 3 times per year it is 6 opponents that they need. It is not that easy to find so many top opponents.

    I agree............

I can't remember when world champions have had to almost beg contenders to fight them. Haye is a liar and a coward.

I don't believe that. I don't think Briggs deserves a shot right now... but who else is beating on either Klitschko's door for a fight? Why not let Briggs have a crack? It's a fight that people have talked about for years.

In the off chance that Briggs pulls off an upset... it should make for an extremely popular and HUGE heavyweight showdown between Briggs and Wladimir Klitschko. Possibly even being the fight that puts heavyweight boxing back on TV in the United States.

Vitali isn't what he was... and he will probably still beat the brakes off of Briggs. However, you can't down Briggs like this, when he is clearly training his ass off for the fight.

theres nothing wrong with it in that sense....vitali just wants to get 1 more fight in b4 the year is over....it will be interesting for a round or 2, but having watched briggs for 24 rounds with sergei and ibragimov....guys who i thought he could KO and early...i see a long uneventful night....used to be an expression that "there is no one to fight" but there really isnt....solis will be next probably.....maybe a chagaev-vitali fight...... the interesting ones wont materialize..Haye and Valuev

Briggs doesn't deserve this chance but he is definitely coming to win.

credit where credit's due...briggs took more than his fair share of lumps from the heavy fists of vit klit, and for that i take my hat off to shannon briggs...nevertheless,i stand by my original assessment that he had no right to be in that ring challenging for a 'world' title.none whatsoever...

He shouldn't have been in the ring with Vitali, but then again, there are few opponents left for Klit to fight, especially with half of them running from him or his brother. Briggs not only had the balls to fight him but to keep on going after a sick beating. Whoever said that Briggs was just in there for the money is wrong big time. He could've, and perhaps should've let himself be counted out after he took something like 20 flush right hands in one round (the 8th), but he didn't, and that takes a shitload of courage.

    agreed

if something would have happened to briggs permanately , there would be a **** storm into boxing as to why a guy was allowed to fight 1 of the top 2 heavyweights in the world for a championship , when he was basically "written in" to a top 15 ranking. boxrec had him rated 77 in the world. say what u want about box rec, they use caliber of opposition when giving a rating.

so #2 vs #77 and beating him every minute of every round, says alot for their credibilty. FYI audley is ranked # 44. I would rank Briggs #1 in the BALLS and CHIN dept after that.
