Hurcn, you'll find most of the posters here actually had a lot of respect for Briggs prior to this fight, so very few on here would have had a pre-conceived negative view on Briggs prior to the first bell (albeit some thought it was a mismatch, but no one had disrespect for Briggs). Then the incident happened and as Marcus has said, everyone called it as they saw it. There was nothing there based on hate or whatever, it was what we saw (and im assuming YOU saw too...). This incident WILL damage his legacy, Huricn, whether you like the sound of that notion or not. How bad his legacy will be tarnished will simply depend on whether the truth will come out or not, and since Briggs has been secretive and diplomatic since the fight, it isnt really helping in cleaning up the tarnish. If one goes by the theory of Briggs simply being unfit and that is why the shot affected him, then the fellow SBW fought in his last fight should have went down on the first punch, since the first punch he ate was far harder than the one Briggs got, and the dude was miles less fit than briggs. I guess we are all just asking you to be a little open-minded to the possibility of foul play even if it goes somewhat against the grain of the love and respect u have for him.
Briggs has neurologic damage plain and simple, he retired because his balance was shot and he mentioned something on channel 9 tonight about once his adrenelane kicked in his balance went before he entered the ring. And honestly, a 12 year old kid would take a better dive than that, he's not that dumb, 1st decent shot and no one would have cried foul in the sense of a dive. Dont forget Lester Ellis nearly dropped off Mundines 1st jab and while Lester has his problems, health wise they are no where near Pauls problem.
The best thing about my week and a half away was being out of mobile reception and your pleading, begging calls to me.
