Intuition. Szpilka still works with Ronny Shields, they try to sell some more fights in the near future with him for the Polish fans. He also said, he is going to sign the contract for a fight in December or January. and the fans will like it. Who could the opponent be, that fans would like? He doesn't deserve any title shot, no upcoming heavyweight is active.

Briggs just got ducked by Haye. Browne was tested positive. I have the feeling it will be a fight against Briggs and there will be a lot of trashtalk or brawls before the fight.

An other option could be Hughie Fury.

I actually want to see a Briggs/Liakhovich II. Think there might be something wrong with me.... Liakhovich just shouldn't have lost that fight.... After that war with Brewster which he very narrowly won, he loses in a last minute meltdown in what was for most part a one sided schooling of his opponent. Such an eye sore....

Briggs is shot to pieces. Szpilka, easily.

Briggs is way too past it to beat a respectable opponent like Szpilka. Szpilka would either stop an exhausted Briggs late or win a wide decision.

I don't see Briggs fighting Szpilka though. Brigg's is a fairly high reward low risk opponent and if he just keeps being seen publicly and knocking out low level fighters he'll land a big fight/payday in the next year or so.

I was hoping to see Povetkin terrorize Briggs after he took care of Stiverne. Nice tuneup before knocking out Wilder. Oh well. Briggs will most likely lose a decision in this one.

Szpilka ending up ten seconds away from a shutout and then pulling a Liakhovich is well inside the realm of possibility.
