To be fair, even as the OP I recognize this thread could be deleted for trolling, but I can just imagine Briggs raising his hands in triumph and it cracks me up.

Martin has to be the weakest IBF heavy belt holder since...
Actually, I'd pick Moorer and Tucker to beat him

I dont understand how someone could claim to be a fan of this great sport but supports seeing the sport embarrass itself.:?

Boxing has always been like this. I enjoyed the Wilder/Szpilka fight immensely. I can't wait for some of the inevitable match-ups in the heavy division over the next few years with Fury, Wilder, Ortiz, Povetkin, Joshua, Parker, Haye etc.

It's not the sport that's embarrassing itself - it's in rude health at the moment. It's the ABC's that embarrass themselves

The IBF stripping Fury, while technically within the law, was enforced, while Wlad didn't have to fight his mando for 3 1/2 years, which was outside every one of their laws. They make it up as they go along.

It has definitely made things interesting though. The HW division has been re-ignited.

I'd love to see that fight, but it's almost impossible. First of all, Briggs is unranked by IBF. Secondly, Martin is with Haymon, Briggs is not. And finally: Martin has bigger fights waiting for him. With Briggs there is much risk & little reward.

Looking at the IBF top 15 ranking, it appears like Martin'd be best off giving Glazkov a rematch, that is if Glazkov makes a full recovery in a short time. Andrey Fedosov can be another alternative for a voluntary. Everyone else is a super high risk for Martin.

Honestly I rather see that as the fight I fear will happen next.
Haymon can now use the loophole to make two of his fighters fight for an "unification" instead of Wilder finally having to face his mandatory.
At least with Martin vs Briggs there's no hiding what we have, wich is two undeserving guys fighting for the IBF strap. With Wilder vs Martin, they'll probably try to sell it as some bigtime fight.

Pretty hard one to call, is Martin the guy we saw last sat or was there a legit excuse that would be reasons for looking like he's never trained before...

Beating that russian, even if he truly beat him down. Is that somehow relevant to a future oppo
