Shannon Briggs should not even be talking about Mike Tyson - he will never be near the fighter Mike Tyson was!

Briggs is going to get annihilated! This is his last big fight, last big payday!

Its over after this fight! Vitali don't **** about & it does not matter if Briggs has got his weight down. People acting like Vitali is going to come in out of shape.

so his TKO12 Siarhei Liakhovich WBO belt

makes him a real heavyweight champion along with tyson, foreman, ali, holyfield, lewis and the current brothers of the last 10 years?

never had thought of briggs as former heavyweight champion because i dont remember him winning the heavyweight title...but i remember him winning the wbo strap of the weakest belt holder

He won lineal title from Foreman.

Also how does your logic work in this?
You count both K brothers current heavyweight champion, but don’t count Briggs WBO championship?

Little bit of a double standard in my opinion. :think

You know, Briggs. 'Asthmatic Heavyweight Champion' isn't a boast.

lineal my ****ing ass......not to mention foreman was 48 and briggs ran from him like haye did valeuv. lineal means nothing anymore when fighters vacate or get stripped,

wlad has had over 16 world title fights, and has had the IBF and WBO unified...... and if you want to talk lineal....he beat chagaev who was the current WBA champion,,......wbo is still as bogus as it was in 1988 when it came out.......

if anything, wlad and vitali made it somewhat legit....

    1989- 1999
your true champions were mike tyson, douglas, holyfeild, lewis, moorer, foreman, rahman....fighters that had pieces were mccall, bruno, seldon
10 years thats pretty much who were the recognized legit champs

    same time 1989-1989
    WBogus chamos
    F Damiani
    Ray Mercer
    Tommy morrison
    michael moorer
    michael bent
    herbie hide
    henry akinwande
(so while tyson and hoyfield were fighting for what was billed as "the heavyweight championship of the world" nobody told the heavyweight champ akinwande i guess
    chris byrd

    some famous WBO challengers
    johnny duploy
    daniel neto ;)
    Tim Tomashek:rofl
michael bent who had 11 fights (can u see him vs lewis or bowe?)
    jore luis gonzalez :nut
    jeremy williams
    damon reed
    ed mahone
    scott welch
    will fiesher
    obed sullivan

amd the guys who had a name such as bowe and moorer when they won it they chunked it....

now u know why briggs WBO belt is pretty much garbage.....especially seeing he couldnt even defend it one time

    I disagree.

Lineal champion is great concept but champs who doesn’t defend it against real competition, like Foreman kind a ruin it.
Still I see winning it better achievment, than single alphabet belt

    16?
You aint counting hes WBOgus fights from early 00 are you. It wasnt real world title back then.

Didnt you say you dont count WBO, so he really hasnt unified anything in your mind.

No he beat Chagaev who was champion in recess, as he was unable to fight in two years, because of his HIV infection.

Real WBA champion was decided long time before his fight with Wlad, because Chagaev wasnt able to defend his belt against mandatorys.

    :think ok.
But its weird that you count it legit for somefighters and dont for others

You forgot Vitali Klitchko whod Byrd beat for his championship.
But yeah you are right, it was a trash belt at that time.

    :lol::lol:

Yeah in 90ths you couldnt get eliminator fight, to the three major belts if you held WBOgus.

    Fair enough.

Actualy I already knew it was a joke belt in 90ths and early 2000, but to be fair, it was considered one of the major four when Briggs won it.

In '85 Ruddock was boxing David Jaco's head off, then gassed due to his asthma & the ref prematurely stopped it on some slaps by Jaco. In the year layoff before his next fight, Ruddock had his respiratory condition treated*. Razor certainly didn't look asthmatic during his 12 round brutal slugest war in the '91 Tyson rematch & that's even considering Tyson's debilitating body punching which broke two of his ribs.

*This is confirmed by the commentors in the '89 Ruddock-Bonecrusher fight.
