Perhaps THE BIGGEST FARCE in Australian Boxing History! It doesn't matter what the explanation is - there can't be one that justifies it! Paul Briggs - don't ever go near boxing again - inside or outside. (my missus ticked me off for coming home EARLY from the pub FFS!)
Only other explanation for this is that Briggs is seriously broken/punch drunk to the extent that he cant even take a tiny tap to the head. And if that were the case, he would have been knocked out in sparring.
We may well have just witnessed the biggest black-eye to Australian boxing in modern history Kel. This will play out for weeks, perhaps months!
If he has taken a dive, he will probably never commentate or train again, also won't have contender opportunities, essentially selling out his entire career and legacy, I hope he bet enough on himself if he did take a dive.
If he didn't dive Raff his brain was already jelly pre-fight. There's a list of people with a lot of answering to do here.
I'd really like to think there is more to it for briggs sake but i just cant see it. If he wasnt healthy he would have known and shouldnt have taken the fight. surely he was sparring and if he wasn't he shouldn't have taken the fight!!!! what a f**king waste. I never wanna see briggs in commentary again which sucks caus he is a dam good commentator. MMA will be taking over in this country with this kinda crap and i gotta say im looking forward to it.
Just saw the footage. ****ing Unbelievable. That punch didn't go anywhere near landing. Barely grazed the top of his head. Briggs took a dive, there is no question about it. I totally agree. It's because of utter crap served up like this, adding to the Mundine circus which is the reason MMA WILL take over. Boxing in this country has gone beyond a farce. It's in dire straits.
Why Paul why?? I cant believe this ****.. No way in the world the man that had two of the biggest wars in boxing history went down like that.. I just dont get it..He must be Punch drunk as ****..Im giving him the benefit of doubt.. The bloke was one of ozzies biggest warriors. It just doesnt add up.
