If this be so then it would be a sure bet the diver would need to be in protective custody as a fair cop of bets are about to be welsched on, some grubby money being laid by some grubby punters expecting big returns.

Mate hes ****ed.Man he just threw away everything in less then 30seconds.

The blokes going to be looked down on by people for the rest of his life Will be referred to as the DIVER..the bloke who DOGGED IT.

And the thing is up until the 30second mark of the first round of tonights bout he would of been one of the last blokes in the world i would call a dog etc...

Im in shock..Kind of feel upset that the bloke has fallen so far..Man his two fights with Adamek were for the ages. The likes of Green wouldnt even be worthy of holding his jockstrap back then..

you forget he has health issues regarding his brain. he may well have known it would end this way......one stiff jab. but money is a very enticing thing.

danny knew paul was sick. pay the man danny. you knew of pauls problems.

Pay Briggsy ? hell yea as for the people screaming "We paid good money fo rthis **** " well all i can say is just suck it up and move onto the next WWF meet , during Greens post fight in the ring interview i was expecting someone to come out of left field and floor him with a step ladder . Briggs will be paid right enough and Danny saved face by talking as if he really wanted a test . The circus rolls on .

    ****! That is awful! :patsch

Briggs, do NOT pursue a career in acting.

Green...what the hell were you doing casually walking over to the neutral corner like it's perfectly normal for a missed jab to have felled your opponent? Where's the disbelief in your body language?

    EVERYTHING about this is suspect.

First of all, it wasnt a "stiff" jab, it was one on the back foot with no body behind it. Second this supposed jab didnt connect. It brushed his hair with less power than a ping pong ball.

Me thinks you havent seen the footage yet...

not accusing anyone of anything but jeff has boasted b4 about winning big on Danny in a first round knockout over RJJ. and he did react strangely towards briggs after helping him train leading up to the fight then crying mismatch near the end almost to back up his claim as to why he might of bet so big against briggs to be KO'd in the first round. if that is what he did. pure speculation, but what else does that result make u do.

Briggs is going down before Green hits him, seriously watch it you see him beginning to go down before he even lands. But you know what I don't even care, the worst bit about all of this is why on earth did the authorities, tv companies, fans allow a fight like this one to happen. Green is almost as bad as Mundine. Australians I truly sympathise with you. Isn't it time the TV Companies got behind Katsidis.

Look past the scripted theatrics from Green ppl. Briggs will get paid, right after the Green camp recieves thier big fat bank deposit from Main Event, paid for by every sucker that ordered the fight. Interesting fluctuation in the odds for a first round KO just before the first round also, wonder how much they made off that?

Briggs will cop a bit of flack for a while, then the public will forget. All will be paid, smiles all around.

Look for more theatrics from Green over the course of this week, lets see how good he is at a coverup. None of us like to think that an old fashioned dive would occur these days. This one was very badly executed.

it was a dive, just like the jones fight. not sure how deep green is in with the curruption but it seem's pretty dead. look at the betting for a first round knock out. the morning of the fight it was $11 one hour out it dropped to $1. australian boxing has turned into the wwf. green/mundine should be ashamed what they have done to our sport.

The rumours are flying thick and fast but I believe that Paul Briggs had one hell of a meltdown last night. Anyone that knows the guy should be concerned for his mental health more than anything. There is no way he would take a dive in that fashion and completely ruin his reputation and his standing in the sport. I hope they do an investigation into this debarcle for real. Rumour has it he was ko'ed in training just three days before the fight, someone has to put their hand up on the issue regarding a duty of care here. I believe Danny threw a financial lifeline to his mate but they didn't realise just how far Paul had slipped. You could see in his training he was a million miles away from the Paul Briggs of 5 years ago.
I hope they do get to the bottom of all this because this is the biggest black eye for our sport I've witnessed in 36 years.

It needs an investigation to see how Briggs was in his preparation going into fight.
I have heard the same rumours about him being KO'd in sparring & if so its sad these people allowed him to step in the ring.:-(
Apparently Briggs was in the hospital, in a very bad way.

The rumours are flying thick and fast alright, and it appears there are people in positions of responsibility who have some serious answering to do.

Action needs to follow starting today - while the evidence and people's memories are 'fresh'.
