This is a joke. Not even Haye would fight his has been, absent, father. Expect a slightly higher calibre opponent
haha That's hilarious. Briggs is terrible but he at the level Haye is at right now -- a nobody has-been at the twilight of his career. Haye is what like 10 years younger?
So Briggs came to UK, was "hunting Haye" who was allegedly "hiding". And then 2 days later the fight is signed? This is such a pathetic marketing ploy I don't know if to laugh or cry.
I've been saying the same thing as well:good. And then, he talks himself into title shots. Worse part is when people say he's exciting, which is true when he's OUTSIDE the ring. Once he gets inside, he's overcautious and puts in a stinker. He's the ultimate pull the wool over the fans' eyes fighter.
Even then he was losing the fight, only won because Liakhovich was an absolute moron and didn't follow his trainers advice for rd 12. He had the fight in the bag.
Briggs is about the same as for the Vitali fight...not that he was good back then. He hasn't really slipped though.
:nod That was a Froch vs. Taylor sort of collapse, except I don't think it a fair comparison as Froch deserves more credit than Briggs does.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if this fight actually got made. I said after the De Mori fight that this made sense for Haye. Easy, high ranked opponent with a recognisable name that would boost his ranking with the WBA.
