WBA should just not schedule any fights at all, it's for the better with their HW rankings

What an outrageous joke of a title fight. Unbelievable. Still, I am happy for Oquendo, as he has been the most shafted heavyweight in history. Given his luck though, Briggs will probably win.

This court order just needs to be cleared with this fight, but the 30 days is up ... so I guess it goes to a purse bid. But the saga is endless. The HW division needs this mess, and Wilder and Haye to pass through its intestines rather than continue to clog up the system.

How is the regular title at stake in this? How?

    Not a chance.
VS Chagaev, Oquendo stayed either out of range, or smothering Chaggys shots and landing body shots in the clinches while holding and hitting.
VS Briggs, he'd get tossed about trying to hold, and from the outside, Briggs 1-2 should be more than enough to keep it close until his power ends the fight.

Power is the last to go, while legs are the first.
Oquendo is also dealing with sad inactivity.
Opportunities to fight either Fury, Pianeta, Washington, and Ustinov and he swerved every one in order to procure a rematch vs Chaggy.

As a Chitowner, Im ashamed of Oquendos lack of effort in staying relevant. He could have fought Matty Greer on a a Fonfara undercard, a Szpilka undercard, or any of the local shows put on in the past 2+ yrs.

Just winning 8 rd UDs over the likes of Sheppard and Gavern would have bolstered his opportunity for victory in this fight.

    Think they're pulling a Valuev/Chagaev move here.
Maybe they'll have simulataneous WBA rulers.

Either way.....easy pickings for Joshua/Wlad winner eh. :tiburon:

Not if the winner of Joshua v Wlad chooses to make the mandatory.
Briggs does well hyping fights and could probably negotiate to 30% and get it.

On a serious note, I'd like to see a seniors heavyweight league. 16 Oz gloves, 8 rounders, etc.

Where would that leave Ustinov? How long would he have to wait for his shot then? The IBF has a mando of their own that they're looking to enforce too.

Even after the chance that they are given , both fighters don't come up with anything.... What a pitty , I am going to quit this division , it's getting shittier with each year.

Wilder will probably face the winner and he, his handlers and delusional fans will pretend that it's some big unification fight.
