I posted in the one over on the Classic. Like I said it's a downhearting story the way he can't even take a couple of days off sparring due to an injury because he needs the money so desperately, even though it's only around $100 a day. He's got a lot of kiddies to pay child support for though.

:good Thanks Tommy. I caught that over there and this is what I had to say in response:

Very sad stuff Tommy. He has that college degree though...at this point, no matter how strong the desire for a title fight of any sort, I would have to quit boxing (at least full time) and get a better paying job.

always interesting to see what the nobodies in boxing deal with, but i think williie has been told enough times he should call it quits and it is now becoming his fault he has no money if he refuses to get a job,

His life is out of control, but who's to blame? Having ten kids with an unsteady source of income doesn't show much responsibility or forethought.

Quite a story, but really it's a guy that made some bad/selfish choices and has painted himself into a corner. If you don't read the writing on the wall, it's not always the wall's fault.

willie walked into my work the other day and I knew who he was from watching ballroom fights around town. He was just weirded out that someone actually knew who he was. I almost thought he was going to beat me for a second.

Bobby, I would have to agree with you on this one. It is the sad truth.

Wow, a truly touching story now that I have read it. This mans life must be told in a book and film. The world needs to know that this sport is not all the glamour and glitz of a huge las vegas megafight.
